We are a 3 - generation -family living together.
A little bit about my family: my father is a mechanic who has an iron shop within our house, my mother is a gentle and a hard working farmer. We are living under the same roof with my older brother, his wife and two nephews. We have one dog and one cat. As I told from the start, we are a very typical and ordinary family as nearly 80% of the population of Vietnam!
In front of my house is a river. Behind my house is a small rice fields. My house is just 500 meters from the local market and it is not far at all to the main fields, the corn fields, the dike or the fish lakes. Coming here, you will have a chance to live as a local in a really peaceful rural area! You will not only watch but will completely join! :-))
And of course, we will introduce you many local food as well, most of them grown or bred locally!
Actually my family is quite familiar with living with foreigners since I have been running an English-teaching project for children in our village with the help from many volunteers who come from Germany, Italy, Switzeland, Spain, Turkey, America, Poland, Rumania...
We are 1 hour and 20 minutes away from Hanoi by a direct bus.
Plus, my house is about 2 hours away from Halong Bay, Catba Island and Trang An, Ninh Binh - a world heritage site. So if you want to visit those places, I can help you to plan your trip to have greatest experiences!
I used to worked as a tour guide in Halong Bay so hopefully I will be able to help with some helpful recommendations.

About the Area
My house is located in Thang Thuy Commune, 7 km from the center of Vinh Bao District, which is right on National Highway 37 (QL 37)..
It takes 3 minutes walk from my house to go to the local market where villagers exchange local products.
Our village is ideal for a ride trip around the fields. In the summer you can also go for fishing and swimming in the ponds of the locals.
Taking several steps from my house, there will be convenient buses to get to downtown of Hai Phong (one hour trip).
Right in our town, there are several ancient temples, pagodas and villages. Some of them were certificated as National Heritages.
And it is also very convenient to visit Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba Island, Co To island, Trang An, Ninh Binh - a world heritage site.
Further than that, if you have interests for handicrafts stuff, I can also take you to many places where puppet, handbags, traditional hat... are made!
We are one hour 20 minutes away from Hanoi by bus.

One important and special rule is this: Enjoy your stay and treat our house as you would your own home!

Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
