I prefer to provide meals for guests from Monday to Thursday, otherwise cooking dinner is by prior arrangement only as it is not a large kitchen. No cooking of food during the day unless by prior agreement.
There is a microwave, small bar fridge plus a kettle and toaster in your room.
Sandra cooks a variety of cuisines - European, Asian, Fusion - she is an accomplished cook. Meals will cost $8 each.
Guests are ideally students or employed persons who are not at home full-time.
Modern, clean bathroom - you may be sharing with one other homestay from time to time.
Government Lawyer (Sean) and Publicist/ Writer (Sandra),
Sean and Sandra are professional musicians who work on weekends.
We don't have a TV, preferring to keep ourselves busy with real life and using the internet to watch "catch-up" TV or watch Netflix mini-series if we have the time.
The neighbourhood is very cosmopolitan and it's close to bus stop to the city (20 minutes journey), supermarket (5 minutes walk), restaurants and hotels (5 minutes walk),
Public Transport is very efficient - with buses leaving all the time. Three bus stops within 5 minutes' walk from the house, all take you to CBD or UQ or QUT Gardens Point Campus.
Sandra is Dutch-Indonesian and has travelled extensively through most of Europe; Sean has seen a lot of Asia playing with bands but is not so much a leisure-traveller.
We have a male cat called Pumba who is very shy.

About the Area
Perfectly positioned on the Inner City fringe, Annerley has a wonderful synergy of lifestyle and convenience whilst still boasting the suburban charm often lost closer to the CBD. A central hub for transport and shopping the suburb offers both buses and trains in and out of the CBD, easy access to the M3 to head north or south and is within close proximity to Woolworths Annerley, Buranda and Moorooka as well as Fairfield Gardens and Stones Corner. The suburb is under constant rejuvenation with strong residential and commercial development as well as renovation. A nice mixture of character homes, good sized blocks and wide streets with new townhouse developments and small unit complexes. A must for anyone wanting proximity and lifestyle without the hustle and bustle of the CBD. Very affordable and a suburb which is on the rise it also has a number of medical centres, the Princess Alexandra Hospital as well as schools and day care and a short walk across the Green Bridge to UQ.
"Has it all!"
The food in Annerley is amazing. There's a good mix of people, from families to students. I definitely recommend this suburb for students, it is well connected to public transport and not as pricey as suburbs closer to the CBD. Live anywhere but Ipswich Rd and you wont have a problem with parking. Plenty of shopping options plus cute cafes. Nice and quiet, a couple of cute parks around. Only hassle is Ipswich Rd congestion at peak times.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
