Our large Queenslander home (built in the 1950s) is cool, comfortable and has inspiring views of the mountains. This family home is spacious and guests have access to a modern kitchen upstairs, kitchenette downstairs, a large timber deck overlooking a tropical garden, three separate lounge areas – one upstairs and two downstairs. One of the lounge areas has been set up as a reading room/quiet area. The downstairs area contains a pool table, TV, DVD, two home office areas and wireless internet. With three bathrooms and six bedrooms, this large and very comfortable home can easily accommodate up to 10 people with quiet areas available.
The home is well positioned only 4 km from the CBD, 2 minutes’ walk to public transport and 5 minutes’ walk to a large shopping centre where you can purchase just about anything you need. Guests have easy access to street parking. The airport is a short 15 minute drive and transfers to and from the airport can often be arranged.
We are long time residents in Cairns and we are happy to share our local knowledge, stories, and home with you. I am a psychologist and love working with people and Kerry is an engineering surveyor and visual artist. We are now both working from home. Our youngest daughter (13) lives at home, is active and sporty and attends a local school.
For an additional cost and some notice, we would be pleased to light up the Barbeque for an easy and delicious meal after a day out sightseeing. Our upstairs deck overlooks a leafy green garden, has views of the mountains, and is a great place for dinner and a glass of wine while enjoying the cool of the evening.
We enjoy sharing our hospitality with others and look forward to meeting you soon!

To stay with the family of Anne and her husband Kerry was like being at home in a new country. They were very kind and nice to us and helped us to deal with issues a tourist can have.
Our room was very clean. The aircondition system worked well.
We had all that we need to enjoy our vaccation.
Many thanks again to Anne and her family.

Anne and Kerry were most gracious hosts. The room was large and had an air conditioner, which is important if you visit Cairns in their summer. They were very helpful with information and had a lovely view from their veranda. The room could have fit 3 people. Their daughter is very nice as well. Anne took me for a drive with beautiful views of the city and ocean and a serene lake.

Anne and her husband are gracious, helpful and kindness personified. My stay was blessed with their kindness to me in many ways - even offering to taking me to my departure destination.
I would most certainly stay with them again when in Cairns as they are nice and so close to buses to Central.

How do I book?
