New new Sea wall and paths and gardens
This is a funky seaside cottage in the tropics. plenty of frogs, geckoes and insects in the house and heaps of birds and butterflies in the garden. It is a homestay not a hotel.
It is the tropics so though cleaned and scrubbed there is some mould on the grouting in bathroom that I cant remove.
Garden provides Dragon Fruit , citrus, egg plants bananas pineapple basil, and other delights.

April 2015
I stayed 3 nights with Myra. She was able to pick me up from the airport for $10 and was there on time which was appreciated. Being that it was a Sunday evening that I was coming in and there are no grocery stores nearby, she offered to pick me up a couple of things so I could have breakfast in the morning.
When I got into the room, it was of sufficient size and was happy to see a trash can, kleenex, a fan on the wall and 4 pillows. I found the bed to be too hard for my liking and since there are no screens on the windows, mozzies were in the room along with a lot of small ants on the desk and chest of drawers for no particular reason. She did provide some kind of mozzie repellent that smokes when plugged in but I wasn't up for inhaling that. It's always a bit of a worry when you see ear plugs provided and I understand why they were. The road noise was very bad at night and in the morning. No sleeping in,
She took me for a walk with the dog the next morning to show me the beach and bush walk. I was under the impression that the beach would only be 5 minutes (the ad does say 'sea') but it was a rock wall instead. The beach was really a 20+ minute more walk and the water wasn't that great. I never even went back. There is a jabiru stork in the bush by the water so that was great to see. There were people fishing off the bridge by the river, so a great place for that if you like to fish.
Pros:
Bus stop around the corner goes into town without having to switch buses and takes about 20+ minutes for $3.10
Nice yard with fruit trees
Dog was quiet, hardly knew he was there
Host offered to help look for tours to reef
Good circulation in the room but luckily it was cool here at night
Fast internet connection
Cons:
Noisy location
Lacking privacy in the bathroom as all doors are open with only sheer curtains (toilet does have an actual door)
Host was inconsiderate of noise level late at night with loud tv and banging around in kitchen at midnight once
Doors on bedroom don't cut down any noise in the house
Kitchen was dirty, ants everywhere, fridge in disarray and mold on tiles in bathroom
Grocery not close, must go into town
House is not closed up at all which is disconcerting when you keep all of your valuables here but it doesn't appear she leaves too much during the day and I assume crime is very low (but how would one know that who is visiting?)
Was told I couldn't do laundry except at night because she sells her electricity during the day. Isn't that what my daily rate goes toward?
