My home is situated in a safe and friendly community on 2 acres of park like garden reserve in Merrimac. A large kitchen, dining and living area with television is available solely for your use. This area opens onto a spacious patio area with BBQ. My guests are usually amazed by the gardens, love my dog, chickens and goats, the trees, bird life and creek. Upon waking from a peaceful sleep you will hear the sounds of birds warbling.
My home is conveniently located 20 minutes from Gold Coast airport, 20 minutes to theme parks and 20 minutes to Surfers Paradise and..... only 50 minutes down the highway to beautiful Byron Bay, the perfect place to spend a day.
Broadbeach is 12 minute drive providing for great shopping at Pacific Fair, cinema, beach and restaurants. Robina Town Centre, a 7 minute drive also offers shopping, restaurants and cinema.
It is a joy to share my home with guests, being a country girl from Victoria. My intention is to create a warm and friendly environment which is peaceful and allow you to have an unforgettable pleasant experience either for business or pleasure.

About the Area
My home is located west of Broadbeach in a quiet and safe suburb with softly undulating streets called Merrimac.
I am only 20 minutes drive from Gold Coast airport, 15 minutes drive from Broadbeach, the home of Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, restaurants, cafes and bars. A 10 minute drive takes you to Robina Town Centre or the railway station to visit Brisbane for a day out.
The bus stop is a 5 minute walk from house with a number of bus options using this stop.

House Rules
Checking in time is 2.00pm unless a more convenient time can be arranged by mutual agreement.
Checkout time is no later than 11.00 am please in order for me to make ready for new guests arrival.
Please may I ask you to keep noise to a minimum and respectfully consider the feelings of other persons living in my home. This consideration of guests also extends to the bathroom cleanliness.
The kitchen is for your use, a bond of $100.00 is to be paid. If you want to cook, then you must clean up after yourself and throw out the trash. A dishwasher is there for your convenience, please switch it on at the end of the day to wash your breakfast lunch and dinner dishes. Please take care of my kitchen property or your bond is foregone.
There is a charge for internet use.
If you have negotiated a cheaper rate than the standard there will be no breakfast included.
Always lock the door after entering and on leaving home.
Please do not waste water nor power, if you are not in the room switch off the light. Shower should be kept to a short period of 4 minutes and please leave the bathroom clean for the next person.

I live on the Gold Coast but needed a few days away from home for a rest / respite. I can't believe I was so fortunate to find Jilly's lovely large spacious home with beautiful green acreage at the back to look out on from the relaxing covered deck. While having breakfast or a drink, you can sit idly watching the horses of the next property or Jilly's lovely water lilly covered lake with her many happy chooks, 2 very funny goats to entertain you and her gorgeous dog who will happily join you on the deck if you invite him to.
The peace and tranquillity of this homestay infuses body and mind and yet paradoxically, is literally placed on the Gold Coast with absolutely everything a tourist / visitor would want to see / visit within minutes away.
Jilly goes the extra mile with her care of her guests with a lovely warm welcome and then intuitively knowing and respecting if a guest needs space to rest up or is a little lost and so an invitation to join her and friends on a bar-b-q at the beach is not uncommon
You can choose to have total privacy or join in the household. The super large spotless kitchen has plenty of room for your food in the fridge and cupboards and enough space for an army to prepare their own meals. Then again, shops and restaurants are only a stone's throw away as an alternative.
I just can't believe that this jewel of a property still exists in the middle of the Gold Coast. It certainly is one of the best discoveries I have made and I have lived here 36 years!
So no matter what you are looking for - a peaceful respite from the rat race, a solid welcoming base to visit friends or family that you have come to see, an oasis from which to explore the Gold Coast, or an adventure packed experience doing all the touristy things, this is perfect. Going to the movies with a very cheap meal after is the same unbelievable rate of staying a night here -such incredible value I haven't seen ever in my 36 years of living on the Gold Coast.
My only regret is that others will find her too and I may have to wait in line :-( Until then, I will make it my rejuvenation place of choice. Who needs the mega expensive spas when Eden is on your doorstep?

This was my first Home Stay and I loved the experience. Staying at Jilly's place at Merrimac has given me a different perspective of the Gold Coast. Only 12 minutes to Pacific Fair (the major shopping Centre) and Beaches or 50 minutes to Byron Bay it was always rewarding to come home at the end of the day to the peace, calm & tranquility of this amazing retreat.
The home is modern, clean, spacious and has ample areas to chill either inside or out. A lovely country feel with chooks, ducks, Lilly Pond, goats & Stella the dog.
My host Jilly was perceptive enough to understand my need for space
initially as I was exhausted from previous travels prior to arriving but once rested I was grateful & happy to be invited on a days outing to Byron Bay with Jilly's friends. As I am a single traveller I was so appreciative and it will remain one of the highlights of my stay.I will be recommending Jilly's place & Home Stay to all my friends for all the reasons above plus it saved me a lot of money.

My friend Debbie and I booked 2 rooms with Jilly last week. Jilly iwas very personable, friendly and keen to understand our needs while there. Our beds were very comfy, quiet and warm. We were in the east wing and shared a bathroom and toilet which we easily navigated. The kitchen, lounge area was modern, huge, light, Airy, clean and well appointed. Good value for money and well located to get around the gold coast and out into the hinterland.
Jilly is amazing to manage such a large enterprise and the renovations in process as well. Enjoyed my stay and feel I have made a new friend in Jilly to boot. I will return. Thanks Jilly !!!July 2016

The Villa is strategically located. Easy to access and to go around Gold Coast and it's attractions.
The villa is well appointed with well equipped, well planned kitchen, dining and lounge.
Wooded surrounding and flowing rivulet make the place serene and peaceful.
Jilly is very helpful, kind, hardworking superwoman with micro management skills.
She makes you feel that she is part of our larger family.

Jilly is a very kind mother，optimistic and hardworking. Her cooking is also very nice. There is a huge garden, very beautiful view！ you must like it. she has a lot of animals at her home, two goats, chickens, doges, beautiful birds, I so like it. A lot different style rooms are available, they are all very clean, one should fit for you. Living with Jilly gives me a feeling like live in own home!

Although my stay was short, I found Jilly to be a very obliging and welcoming host. The house is huge - as is the property. Nothing was too much trouble and look forward to staying again on my next trip.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
