We live in a quiet suburb just outside Melbourne, just far enough out for everyone to be friendly and relaxed but close enough to be able to catch a train or bus almost anywhere. and close enough to some good eating places. Watsonia is one of the safest suburbs in Melbourne. The house is warm and relaxed with a pot belly stove. We shop for fresh fruit and veges at local markets so have ready access to the multicultural side of Melbourne as well. I love books, writing and cinema, and am happy to show people around. We are also close to the more rural areas in Melbourne such as the Yarra Valley with its wineries. My son is a uni student studying science. I can sign and also love to cook and eat. I'm happy to cook for a person as required. There is a big garden here with lots of roses and herbs and we also have some fruit trees. We are fairly relaxed about everything and easy to get along with.

About the Area
Away from the city
We are aprox 20 kms from the CBD in a quiet safe suburb called Watsonia.
We are about a 30 min drive from the airport on a direct route as we are close to Metro Ring Road.
We are a 10 minute drive from La Trobe University and about the same from Greensborough NMIT.
The bus leaves from the end of the street and we are about a 10 minute easy walk to the train station. The closest shops are about a 5 minute walk away but we are close to everything really, including parklands.

Please treat our house as you would your own home but please let me know in advance if friends are coming. Please don't invite strangers in. Feel free to use the kitchen or anything else as you like, but please clean up after yourself.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
