About the Homestay

Urban Architectural

We live in a two bedroom Edwardian terrace house in an inner Melbourne suburb. We are right on the tram line to the city centre and walking distance to Port Phillip Bay and St. Kilda. Although the house is small we have a separate upstairs guest room suitable for one or two people and there is an attached full bathroom. I love to cook, so the kitchen is central to the house surrounded by a dining area and sitting room which opens on to a tiny sunny outside courtyard at the rear which includes an outside kitchen and a spa. We have our bedroom, bathroom and a private sitting room downstairs. I am particularly interested in historic buildings and know the city of Melbourne and its laneways very well. Having lived in Geelong, we are also very familiar with the surf coast and the Great Ocean Road. Our knowledge of sight seeing in Australia is very broad, we have travelled extensively in our own country as well as overseas. We both like good food, wine, the theatre, music, travel and meeting new people.

We stayed with Judy and Howard for 3 nights and had a really nice time there! When they say that their home is your home, they do mean it. They certainly know how to welcome guests and make them feel at ease. Nice time and discussions, lots of good pieces of advice on what to do in Melbourne and how to get there. We had the first flood for ourselves with a private bathroom, the house is in a nice neibourghood close to public transport... A place to recommencer for great moments, memories and kindness.

Great location, really enjoyed being in a nice area close but away from the city and just a few 100 metres to a tram either to St kilda or Melbourne city. Very clean. Friendly hosts. Room upstairs and own ensuite was great. Room however needed a door as the upstairs nook was also used by the owners for computer access and no door on our room was an issue for us. Overall good stay.

The week at Judy's home was fabulous. Friendly Judy and her kind husband made us feel ourselves welcome. Their home is located close to the sea and the city center. Fantastic couple and fantastic situation. We want to give them 10 hearts.

It was my first time to book via Homestay.com and I can honestly say it was a great experience to the point that for my next travel I will check Homestay for my accommodation. I am very fortunate to have Judy and Howard as hosts because they made me feel very welcome. I was able to understand the culture, and appreciate the place because of them. I can say that I was able to gain new friends and if given the opportunity to come back, I will surely stay at their place. To Judy and Howard, thank you so much. I really appreciate what you did for me. For those who are planning to go to Melbourne, book in this place and you can never go wrong in terms of accessibility and the beauty of the place. Love it.

Thank you also for taking me out on a tour of the area and sharing your vast knowledge of Melbourne.
Melbourne is absolutely beautiful, and there are so many fun and interesting spots the average tourist would never find on their own.
It was exciting to see and experience a bit of how the locals live and enjoy life.
Judy when I return I would definitely stay with you.
