About the Homestay
You’ll love my place because of the location, the inner west of Sydney is a multi-cultural area full of great restaurants, delis, and food markets.
You have your own private and neat large room with a single bed and a chaise sofa that can convert to a queen size bed, hanging/clothes space, vanity/shelving, desk, side tables with lamp, full length mirror, heater in winter, fan in summer.
There is a shared bathroom and two toilets. You can cook in the shared kitchen and choose to eat at the inside dining table, at the table on the elevated deck which offers a pleasant view of my garden, or at the outside table within the yard.
Other things to note
I have an Australian Cattle X dog, Ellie, who will bark when new people arrive at the property, but once she’s met you and knows your smell and voice she’s welcoming. She’s well behaved and is good company and provides security. Once she has greeted guest or visitors she generally just hangs out in my room, the lounge room or in the back yard. She enjoys a pat from guests if you are so inclined.
I also host International Language Students who attend school in the city so I'm use to assisting new arrivals to Australia. At different times of the year I host other guests in private rooms so please feel free to ask if there'll be others staying too. We find that a mix of people makes for interesting conversations.

About the Area
My home is located in the inner west of Sydney in a multi-cultural area where migrants have bought the best of their food and traditions. Within 5 minutes’ walk there are Portuguese cakes and butchers, Greek restaurants and cake shops, Italian delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a selection of Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, and Brazilian restaurants. Within 10 minutes’ walk there’s even more choice, including Indian, Spanish and French. Walk another 5 minutes and you’ll come across bars with boutique beer, live music and great food.
There are many parks within close proximity, a couple of public pools either 5 minutes by bus or a 15 minutes’ walk away.
Every Sunday there is a local food market with street food stalls selling a variety of different traditional foods from many nationalities, including organic foods. There’s a large array of fresh foods including fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, meat, breads, seafood, teas, beer etc. It will take you 15 minutes to walk there and is a great way to spend an hour or two. There are market stalls selling clothing, books, trinkets and second hand goods.
