About the Homestay
Our family lives in a quiet, leafy suburb on a peninsular 9km from the centre of Sydney. Our home is a large 6 bedroom house with a pool and table tennis table. We have 3 children all in their 20's - and all are now living away from home. My husband usually works in New Zealand coming back to Sydney every few weeks. We often have other travellers staying so you can expect to meet some interesting people if you stay here.
We are originally from New Zealand but now love the climate and way of life in Australia, especially Sydney. The area where we live is very safe and is conveniently accessed by a bus service. The bus takes 30 mins to the city centre. There is also a ferry service with a limited timetable that serves our peninsular. The ferry wharf is an easy 5-10 min stroll away. It is a wonderful way to travel into the city and only takes 20 mins. You can use your Opal card on the ferry.
Our street is wide with little traffic. If you come by your own car parking is not a problem.
If you are arriving at the airport I can pick you up from the St Leonard's train station for a nominal charge of $5 or I will pick you up from the airport ($45 for 1, $50 for 2) during non peak hour. Sydney traffic can be terrible!
We just speak English at home but I lived in Mexico for one year so have reasonably good conversational Spanish.

This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.
Frances could not have been more helpful, from picking me up from the local train station, to sharing her expert knowledge about where to visit and how to get there, to her wonderful cooking. I really enjoyed my stay and sharing some meals with other people staying at the house. A wonderful start to my stay in Australia.
A gem hidden in the heart of Sydney--Great Host--Absolutely safe in a great location
Frances is an excellent host and makes one feel very welcome in her house. Very convenient location for access to Sydney by bus or ferry. The neighbourhood is up market and pleasing to live in. Highly recommended . Many quests book subsequent visits which shows how good it is.
Lovely house in one of the best suburbs in Sydney. Frances is a nice and helpful host. You feel her house like your own home. She helped me settle up soon, and she made the best pizza I have ever eaten.
Frances was very welcoming and her home is comfortable and relaxing. She made us a lovely dinner that was much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing. Public transport was easily accessible. I would recommend her homestay
Frances is a lovely host, always ready to help. The room was fine, clean and quiet. Although it takes a while to get to CBD, there is a bus which runs regularly. Thanks, Frances!
Frances is very nice and helpful person
Staying with Francis was more than just staying at a bed and breakfast. Our experience and involvement as a family member, being able and happy to help around the house, greatly enhanced our holiday. The other guests (4), )which we were sad to have to say good bye to when we finally moved on, were equally at home and we were all able to interact and sometimes go out on different visits together. Some evenings there were seven at the table for dinner and then played board and table games. I can wholeheartedly recommended Francis as a wonderful host and if I had another opportunity to come to Sydney in the future I would hope to get in before you.
It was wonderful time with Frances.
I strongly recommend everyone to stay her house.
