Nice homestay family in Seaforth near Manly. Leafy neighbourhood and really quiet. Overall a positive experience but with some black points after having lived 2 months in this house. Jenny is a lovely host. She is welcoming and warm and she is attentive to you. She heads an active household: nice children, a friend of hers who also shares this house and one or more students. There are a cat and a small dog. There is no conflict, the ambiance is enjoyable and relaxing. The house is well managed. The house includes 3 bathrooms, a spacious living room and many bedrooms, a kitchen quite big and a garden with a pool (unusable). I was in the bedroom downstairs, close to the hall: big, good exposure, clean, a wide wardrobe with drawers, a king size and comfortable bed, a desk, a TV with a DVD player, an alarm clock, a bedside lamp. Great comfort!

Pros: The cleaning. Every week, sheets are changed. Bedroom and bathrooms are also cleaned each week. The house is generally clean. No dish washing to do, Jenny has in charge all home tasks in the house including your clothes washing, cooking, etc. She can pick you up on arrival. The bedroom is really good. Jenny is available to help you solve your problems. . Proximity with Manly (15 min by bus) and you can do many walks around. You’ll find two bus lines to go to the city: 169 and E69. Another one to goes to Manly: 132. 10 min on foot from the closest shops.

Cons: Dog poo on the floor because the dog is never walked. Dog barking may annoy you. The house is a complete mess: it’s impossible to have a seat in the living room. You eat alone most of time, but it depends on how many students are living at home. You can speak in English with your host, but she is very busy. It is more a shared accommodation than a homestay family. Another thing is there is no flexibility with meals: rules are strict: no meal, even cold, after dinner time.
Finally, I recommend this homestay family but don’t be too fussy. Thank you Jenny. I have good memories of her.
