Hi, we live in a large friendly home on 12 Acres of Eucalyptus Forest up a steep hill with amazing views, overlooking The Hinz Dam on one side and the Gold Coast beaches on the other (on a clear day you can see from South Stradbroke Island down to Surfers Paradise). The Hinterland is named the Green Behind The Gold because it is the green hills behind the golden beaches. There are kangaroos & kookaburras, wallabies and possums literally at the door, and we have started living as suistainably as possible, with free range chickens, minature goats, Border Collie and a cat. (we will be adding more animals later), starting to grow our own and working towards bee keeping, cheese making, composting, a worm farm, & growing mushrooms. We recycle, upcycle & repurpose etc wherever we can. We are Yvonne & Rod, a Scottish & Irish chilled couple. Life here is relaxed, entertaining, busy & fun filled. Every day is different. If you fancy an interestesing & entertaining break with us, then a car is really a must to get you up that hill. This is also a great place to chill out, relax and exercise with great walking, sight seeing, bird watching, fishing on the Dam (daily licences are available) and lots of other activities. We have some exercise equipment you are welcome to use and there is an inground salt water pool, where you can stand at one end and look at the Dam, and swim to the other end to take in the coastal views. There is a 3/4 size biliard table, lots of board games, books and plenty of area for the kids to run around. You can join in with feeding the animals if you want to, goats and chickens etc are very friendly.
We are 10 mins to the Motorway, 1hr to Brisbane, 25 mins to the NSW border and the great Norhtern Rivers district & to Coolangatta Airport, 15mins to the best shopping at Robina Town Centre, 25mins to Harbour Town outlet shopping, 25mins to the Theme Parks, 25mins to Currumbin Bird Sanctuary, 30mins to the Springbrook National Parks and approx 45 mins to Tamborine Mountain and the Winery Trail. The list goes on. So you can see we have it all, literally the best of all worlds & experiences, too numerous to mention!

About the Area
Our home is located in the Gold Coast Hinterland, called the Green Behind the Gold, as it is only 20mins by car from the world famous beaches. We are 10mins to the motorway, to the Hinz Dam (where you can fish with a permit) & to the village/shopping centres of Mudgeeraba and Nerang, 15mins to the major shopping centre, Robina, 40mins to Tamborine Moutain & the Vineyards, 25mins to the Casino & the Exhibition Centre, and approximately 25mins to The Gold Coast Airport & NSW border & 1hr to Brisbane. The bus stop is at the bottom of the steep hill, going in each direction, there is a train station at Robina 15mins away, and we have various resteraunts, pubs, clubs very close and a Golf Club/Country Club just over 5mins away. We are close to all the major centres and attractions, but you really need a car.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
