1 Store jewellery in tablet organisers

There's nothing worse than arriving at your highly anticipated destination and finding that all your jewellery has got tangled together in transit. Instead of spending time unknotting it think ahead before you leave and use a tablet storage box to keep everything as you want it. You can also use buttons to keep your earrings together so you'll never have a pair separated again.

2 Roll clothes

It's surprising how useful this tip can be and how much space you'll save by something so simple. So ditch the traditional folding in piles and give it a go. Don't knock it until you've tried it!

3 Put a dryer sheet in your suitcase

Another easy way to win at packing is to put a dryer sheet in between your clothes. This simple hack will keep your clothes smelling and feeling fresh for longer throughout your trip as though they're just out of the laundry.

4 Keep cables untangled and tidy by using clips

Another item that always seems to tangle is cables. With so many gadgets that you can't travel without it's easy for laptop chargers, phone cables and whatever else you can fit in creating a lovely knot in the bottom of your bag. 5 Save on space by stuffing shoes

Having lived abroad a few times over the last few years, I can't recommend this enough. While you might be asking yourself why on earth you'd do this, the extension cord will allow to use all your favourite devices etc. from home with one adapter.

7 Get yourself a travel luggage scales

If you're a frequent flyer then this is a great investment. While you're away it can be hard to keep tabs on what you're adding to your suitcase from the gift shops. Make sure you’re never caught out at the airport again with pricey excess weight charges. It'll pay for itself in no time!

8 Wrap your shoes in a showercap

After spending time cleaning and packing your favourite clothes for holidays, there's nothing worse than finding a dirty mark left on something by a rogue shoe in your suitcase! Prevent it ever happening again by using a shower cap or plastic bag over the soles of your shoes.

9 Keep a shirt pristine by stuffing the collar

To keep your ironed shirts pristine, make sure to add a wrapped belt around the inside of the collar. This simple hack makes sure you won't have to re-iron it when you land in your destination. Perfect for when you just want to change and get out to explore the city.

10 Bring sweets from your hometown as a gift for your homestay host
