We live in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to all Calgary amenities, we live across the street from a public library and public indoor pool and recreation center. We live within a 5-minute walk from a large supermarket, and 10 minutes walk from a large shopping mall. We do not have children that live at home, but they do visit from time to time. We live in a very beautiful clean house with a cat. We have internet with wifi and cable television. We have hosted international students before and look forward to being someone host Canadian family. I work as a medical office assistant. Our home has just been renovated. We added a new bathroom in our ground floor area. Airport bus comes every 30 minutes on our streets depending on schedules. Please check on websites Calgary transit bus schedules.

Only English spoken our home although, I'm from Philippines. Parking is unlimited in our area. Airport PICK-UP extra charge of $50.00Canadian dollars.

About the Area
Our home has quick and easy access to all Calgary amenities, we are 10 minutes from downtown via public transit and have a public library across the street from our house as well as a public pool and recreation center. We are a 5 minute walk from a very large supermarket, and a 10 minute walk from a large mall. We are also a 15 minute walk from nose hill provincial park, and also have quick and easy access to the University of Calgary, (20 minute bus ride)

We are very easy going people and ask that you treat this home like it is your own. we just ask that you clean up after yourself and treat our home with honour and respect.
We accept students and a short term stay max 1 month for tourist. Preferred no alcohol, no smoking, no vaping and no drugs allowed. Payment is due upon arrival cash or e-transfer preferred.

The house is quite far from downtown but bus stops are in front of the house.

Marilyn is a warm and wonderful host. As soon as I arrived I felt very welcomed like part of the family and I was received with a smile. Even though I arrived late at night I was accommodated very well and the entire check in process was stress free which was a huge bonus as I was tired from my trip. The location is also excellent. Its very centrally located within minutes from downtown and its close to everything in the area as well including a public library, recreation center, supermarkets, a strip mall and a transit stop with many bus routes and options at your disposal. Marilyn also has 2 adorable cats that are very well trained and quiet which I loved. I also liked the interaction and constant communication with Marilyn which was really nice to be apart of. I never once felt alone. I would definitely recommend Marilyn for anyone who wants a caring and loving host that would go far and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied and comfortable with your entire stay. You wont be disappointed at all and you will never feel like an outsider at this homestay.

If you live in this house, don't complain. Even if you are not bad. If you're obediently listening to what your host mother says, the problem won't happen.I was going to stay for 75 days. But I gave up and stayed for 41 days. No full refund. If you request a shorter stay, the resident of this house will be a different person.I think ”Don't impose your values on others.”Thank you.

The home was convenient for buses. The bed was comfortable & the room nice. Marilyn was alright but Different, At first she wanted me to stay on, & then she didn’t. Generally it was alright.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
