We are a welcoming couple who are retired and we have one room available for a homestay. We have one indoor cat who is very friendly. We are looking for students who are looking for a nice quiet home. We speak Spanish, English and Portugese (and a little German). We are very close to Douglas College and the Lafarge skytrain station (walking distance) and a bus stop that is only 1 minute away walking. The mall and grocery store is nearby, as well as a public pool, a public park, and many walking areas. Downtown Vancouver is only 45 minutes away by skytrain! We do not tolerate the use of drugs or smoking inside our home.

About the Area
We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood, close to Town Center Park. We are walking distance from Douglas College and a public pool/gym. We are near the Coquitlam River where you can enjoy beautiful trails for walking. There are many restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and shops that are easily accessible by bus or skytrain (or walking). The bus stop is a short walk (1 min) and the skytrain is 15 minutes walking. There are other beautiful lakes, trails, and forests to explore in Coquitlam that are easy to access through transportation. The hospital is about 10 minutes driving away from the home.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Please let me know if you will not come home for the night, you don't have to let me know where you are, only if you are not coming home. No smoking or drugs. We will take of cleaning common areas, but you will be expected to keep your room clean. We only ask that you keep the common areas relatively clean and organized. You can do your laundry any time you need. The internet is provided for you. We can offer light breakfast at a specific time, otherwise you can take care of your own breakfast.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
