I am a biologist and my husband is a teacher. We have 3 children and we all love to travel - even vicariously by hosting guests from around the world. We live in an historic house only 15min from downtown Ottawa. We have excellent bus service and access to bike paths.

About the Area
We live in a family and pet friendly neighbourhood with many parks within 5 minute's walk of the house. Easy 5 minute access by bicycle to the gorgeous Sentier des Voyageurs bicycle path along the Ottawa river. Just a 5 minute drive/bike to the historic town of Aylmer, site of the earliest settlements in the Outaouais, where you can visit the Symmes and Aylmer Heritage museums, the Aylmer marina and sandy beach, restaurants, shops and more! 10 minute drive to the beautiful town of Chelsea in the heart of Gatineau Park. Not to mention Parliament Hill, the Museum of Civilization, the National Art Gallery...

Sonja, Jamie and all their daughters are an awesome family. They are really close to their host, attentive and kind. I went there with a friend and it was an formidable experience. Their house is big, confortable and warm; the surrounding's green and there's a bus stop very close. In addition, you can find a huge supermarket nearby. I would really recommend the experience!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
