Our home is in a quiet neighbourhood close to all grocery stores, pharmacies and restaurants. It's a 3-minute walk to a major bus route that will take you to downtown Halifax. Hiking trails, parks and beaches are nearby.
Our home is well-insulated and is heated by a new oil furnace with central heating. The temperature of the rooms is maintained at 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) in the wintertime. The house is cool and comfortable in the summertime because of the many shade trees in our yard.

Catherine was a great host. She is is very knowledgable and can tell you a lot about Halifax. Her house is in a quite location in Dartmouth but it is just a few minutes walk to the nearest bus stop and to shops, banks etc. Halifax city centre can easily be reached in half an hour by taking bus number 11 that brings you straight downtown. It is a safe place when you are traveling alone mainly being a female. Catherine was veeeery flexible with the check in and check out times in my case. Thanks again Cathy for your great hospitality and all your help. Highly recommended to stay here.
