Are you looking for a cozy room in a safe west-end homestay? My home offers you your own above-ground bedroom. I have 10+ years of hosting experience, with students coming from all around the world, from all different cultural and religious backgrounds. Do you enjoy nature? We are close to bike paths that take you all around the city. Do you enjoy going downtown? Our house is a 20 minute drive to Parliament Hill! (Uber cost between $20-24 CAD.) Located in a beautiful, safe and convenient part of Ottawa, we are close to Algonquin College, Carleton and Ottawa Universities. Our house is ideal for students who are quiet, respectful and who enjoy being independent and self-sufficient. Your accommodations include your own bedroom, complete with full bed, dresser, desk, and large cupboard. You will share the full bathroom; have full access to the kitchen with full fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and oven. You will also have access to our private yard. Tastefully decorated and completely furnished, all you need to bring with you are your personal belongings. We have one very quiet, safe dog who loves people! I am an English professor. If it interests you, I offer English IELTS-prep tutoring services. I am conversant with the public school system, as well as with the College system. Overall, I am a great resource for students and their parents. Included in your monthly fees are: your accommodations, unlimited internet access, television and streaming, bi-weekly professional cleaning services, access to shared laundry. I look forward to welcoming you to my house!

About the Area
Our house is located in a friendly, safe, neighbourhood, close to the Tech Hub of the city. Want to travel by bus? There are bus stops within a minute's walk. Downtown is a $20-24 Uber ride. Will you study at a post-secondary institution? Algonquin College is an 12 minute car ride away, Carleton University is 20 minutes by car, and Ottawa University is 20 minutes away by car. I am available for pick-up from the airport!

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Our house is quiet. We are very respectful of each other, and their privacy and belongs. Quiet hours are from 22:00- 08:00. There is no smoking or vaping permitted in the house, or on the property. Recreational drugs, in any form, are not permitted. Alcohol over-use is not permitted. There are no parties allowed. Overnight guests are only permitted with prior consent from host.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
