Located on Newfoundland's North Central coastline in an outport village called La Scie with views of the inlet, hills and barrens. 5 hiking/snowshoeing trails take you to beautiful vistas and afford views of the icebergs, whales, seabirds and rugged beauty we are famous for. The house has comfortable, clean, well-furnished rooms. I am a weaver, and also have a craft studio in the house where you are welcome to observe the fine crafts of weaving, spinning and rug-hooking in practice. We have a well-trained dog.

English spoken. Parking in front. Vegan/vegetarian menu options available for all meals. Extra charge for lunches and suppers. Meals can be packed for your day trips or hikes. Fresh seafood in season. Excellent snowmobile trails - bring your own snowmobile. Discount rates for weekly guests - stay 6 and the 7th night is free. Strict no-smoking policy - fire marshall regulations - you will be asked to leave immediately and charged $250 cleaning fee. PETS: +$25 fee per night.
Boat tours can be reserved - $40 per person for one hour from La Scie harbour. Icebergs and whales may be seen in season.
Museum Tours and Traditional Newfoundland meal can be reserved for you - $30 per person.

About the Area
Up on 'the hill' you can see the house from anywhere in town as it is the highest one on the hill. Great views and easy walk to the beaches - only a couple of minutes walk away. Entrances to several trails for hiking and snowshoeing less than 5 minutes walk from the door.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Quiet time after 11pm. Breakfast served from 7:30am to 9am. Footwear off in the porch, please. Laundry service available - no extra charge. Your meals will be cooked for you. The bedrooms are straightened and changed for you daily.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
