About the Homestay
I love that my home is in a quiet residential area with major transportation literally one minute from the house. There is parks, hiking, a coffee shop, organic supermarket, gas station, beer & wine store, post office and more close by and 3 ski mountains that are an easy transit or short drive and Whistler/Blackcomb is only 90 minutes drive.
Right across the street from my home is a bus stop which will take you to all the major tourist locations in Vancouver and the lower Mainland. The North Shore is home to a large majority of the favourite tourist areas that Vancouver has to offer. Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Capilano Salmon Hatchery, Mount Seymour, Horseshoe Bay ( from here you can take a ferry to Vancouver Island), Deep Cove (a favourite area for locals to go kayaking) and in walking distance there are public tennis courts and numerous indoor sports centres. Something for everyone.
Getting around is easy, as there is bus, seabus and the train to connected to all areas in and around Vancouver. Translink is our transit system and they have a link called Trip Planning that can assist with getting you from place to place. You can also download the App for added convenience.

I have had the pleasure of hosting overseas students for the last 3 years.
I am not an absentee host. This is my home and I will be present during your stay and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about my home and the neighborhood and to assist in making your stay a memorable one.
The bathroom is shared between two bedrooms so the same courtesies apply as would in your own home.
A continental breakfast can be arranged and served between 8 am - 9 am - Coffee, tea, yogurt/toast/cereal and home-made waffles on a Sunday.
My kitchen is not for public use but you can of course use the fridge to store any perishables. Whilst this may deter some guests, it shouldn't. Vancouver has thousands and I mean thousands of amazing restaurants at amazing prices. You will be surprised at how inexpensively you can eat out in Vancouver. Within a 5 minute walk of my home there is an amazing gourmet pizza store, a neighbourhood pub, a Starbucks coffee shop, a Subway sandwich store, an organic supermarket, a donut shop, a post office, a convenience store, gas station, beer and wine store and a dry cleaners. While I wouldn't mind you using the kitchen for a special occasionally, i prefer to not have it used for cooking on a daily basis by guests.
I don't have a lot of rules and regulations. If you need anything, extra towels, blanket, pillows, please just ask.
There will be basic toiletries supplied (shampoo/ conditioner), as well as ironing board, hairdryer, maps, bus schedules and if you need something please just ask. I love to travel and my aim really is to make this stay as enjoyable as possible.
Check-in is 4 pm or later and checkout is by 11.00 a.m. an earlier check-in can be accommodated by request.
There are waste baskets in each bedroom. When full, they should be emptied into the outside garbage bin and there is a recycling bin on the deck. I will also have safety cards posted in each room showing appropriate emergency telephone numbers in case I'm unavailable.
A extra key can be arranged for two guests, otherwise only one will be given. There will be a $5 charge to replace a lost key.
The most complicated thing to use in my house will be the TV and remote control.
The dogs are very friendly and are great cuddliers any time of the day. The are never to be given any human food. While it is okay to let them out to do their business should you arrive home before me please make sure that they are always in side the home prior to leaving. They are not allowed up on the furniture or beds.
I hope you enjoy your stay here, however if on a night you enjoy it a bit to much or are out very late, it would be appreciated that you be courteous and respectful that others are sleeping, would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking forward to welcoming you to North Vancouver and introducing you to the amazing place I call home.
Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
