Our family immigrated to Canada in 1999 and we have been hosting international students since 2001.
Our home is very close to bus stops 240 Downtown ( 2 minutes walking distance ), 255 Capilano University ( 3 minutes walking distance ), 229, 230 Lonsdale Quay and 232 Grouse Mountain ( 8 minutes walking distance ), Lions Gate Hospital ( 4 minutes walking distance ), North Vancouver City Library ( 11 minutes walking distance ) and all the grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, gyms, banks, medical clinics and laboratories on Lonsdale ( 8 minutes walking distance to Lonsdale and 15th Street ).
We renovated the entire house in 2015.
The upstairs where 3 bedrooms ( Spare Room is on the main floor where my family lives. ) are located has a private setting with 2 full washrooms (shared only by guests), laundry and kitchen ( Cooking on the stove and in oven is NOT allowed). Guests are allowed to use the fridge, microwave, air fryer, coffee maker and toaster.), dining and living room.
So just come with your suitcase to enjoy, relax and have fun while you stay with us in beautiful North Vancouver.

About the Area
Our house is located in a quiet area but walking distance to all amenities; hospital, medical clinics, grocery stores big and small, boutiques,banks, restaurants, coffee shops, library, gyms and bus stops that can take you directly to the heart of downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain, Seabus, Dundarave and Capilano University.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
-Please take off your shoes when you step inside the house.
-Keep clean after yourselves.
-You can prepare your meals in the kitchen but use of the oven and stove in the kitchen is not permitted. There are fridge, toaster, microwave, electrical kettle, air fryer and Nespresso machine, plates and cutleries for guests to use.
-Laundry is one load once a week. To avoid any allergic reaction if you have sensitive skin, buy your own detergent. Any additional loads will cost $10 per load.
-Please follow the BC guidelines for recycling.
-No fury friends.
-No drugs. No partying, drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking inside the house.
-Do not invite friends for sleepover. They are welcome to visit you but notify us ahead of time, please.
-Be considerate and respectful of other guests.
-Checkin is at 1 pm and checkout is at 11am. Guests are welcomed to drop off or leave their luggage at the house to wait for checkin time or after checkout till they are leaving to the airport for a few hours.
-Please know that booking fee is paid to Homestay.com and NOT to the host.
-SHORT STAYS ( up to two months) are asked to pay their non-refundable stay fee ON THE FIRST DAY OF ARRIVAL AND IN CASH. LONG TERM STAYS; over two months, are required to pay THE FIRST & LAST MONTH OF THEIR NON REFUNDABLE STAY FEE ON THE FIRST DAY OF ARRIVAL, IN CASH AND THE REMAINDER IS ON A MONTHLY BASIS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MONTH, IN CASH.
The short term stay fee is NON REFUNDABLE and the long term stays are required to give a full month notice to cancel the booking.
The rules are just there to make your stay safe, comfortable and memorable.

I enjoyed my stay very much with Fara and her family. I had everything I needed, both in the home and in the community. Everything I needed was very close. I felt very comfortable there and enjoyed the many pleasant interactions that we had. I highly recommend staying with them and I look forward to the opportunity again when I am in North Vancouver.

Fara was amazing, very hospitable and kind. The house was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Most of the time, the house was quiet, allowing for a comfortable rest. Whenever I needed anything, I would call, and she would bring it for me.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
