We are looking for long term stays of 3, 6 months to 1 year but feel free to start with a week. Our condo corporation would like you to sign a one year lease to deter Airbnb type rentals. However we do not have any penalty if you decide to leave early.
Non smokers only please.
We’re a friendly retired professional couple with a friendly grey cat, Smoky, and three clean dry bedrooms, all with comfortable beds and a window. There's one large queen master bedroom with a small full ensuite, and 2 medium size single bedrooms all on the main floor, and one slightly smaller single. The home is a Bungalow Townhouse in Hunt Club area of Ottawa, 8 minutes drive from the airport, bus stops right here.
This is our home (we live here) and it will be your home while you are here. Please respect our property and other guests.
We recycle and we make it easy for you to recycle. Wifi and air conditioning. Nice garden patio. Use of kitchen. Full bathroom shared with one other renter. Private ensuite bathroom in the Master bedroom. I speak a little Spanish and French.
We are a family Homestay and therefore you are responsible for keeping your room, bathroom and hallway, laundry room, fridge and kitchen areas clean. The home is professionally cleaned every two weeks on Saturdays.
Parking, if needed, can be an issue. You can park on Uplands for free at night but there is a 3 hour limit during the day and in the winter if there is a snow storm you have to find a place to put your car. You can leave it in the Walmart parking lot at South Keys. You can also apply to the city for a parking permit. A bus stop is right in front of our complex.
We can not take animals long term, we have a cat who owns the place. Pets for short term may work.

There’s a bus stop right on the road at our complex and if you are driving there’s easy access to downtown on the airpor parkway and Bronson Ave. There’s a beach on the river at Mooneys Bay and hospital and train station 15 minutes away.

I reserved a homestay with Sandy for a young male friend, age 30. I did visit my friend at Sandy's home. Sandy and her husband John's home is perfectly lovely, comfortable and artistic. The backyard patio and outdoor seating is perfect and my friend made good use of the bbq. There is a large grassy area behind Sandy's patio/yard which gives one the feeling of being in the country. The home is conveniently situated and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Sandy and her husband John were always gracious and kind. The room is comfortable, clean and well set up. I could not have asked for a better stay for my young friend. It was a true pleasure to meet and talk with Sandy and her husband John.

I know I was in for a good stay when my host offered to pick me up from the airport. This first impression is such that's going to last very long. She also dropped me at the airport at the end of my stay (both free of charge).
These couple are so lovely, nice, and very accommodating. I'd recommend this place over and over again. Thank you Sandy n John

Sandy and John are the best hosts I could have asked for. The house is not just clean but also artistic, with almost everything you might need readily available. I feel lucky to have started my new journey in Ottawa at Sandy and John’s place!
