Beautifully furnished room with private bathroom in clean, bright and newly finished basement.
The room has a double bed, nightstand, desk and chair, dresser, lamps and bookshelf. Happy to provide other furnishings as needed such as additional bookshelves, bedding, towels, etc. The room is 11'x12' and has a closet. The bathroom has a glass shower (no tub), modern finish and extra cabinets for storage.
Parking is available in the driveway, there's a large yard, garden, patio. We also have two friendly cats.
The house is in the suburbs with a short walk to grocery store and coffee shop, bus stop, restaurants and medical centre. There's a lovely forest off the neighborhood to enjoy walks along the Rideau River, as well a pathway leading to Mooney's bay beach. It's a 12-minute drive to downtown.
I work in high tech with a science organization and am a solo parent with three boys, aged 5, 8 and 15. The kids are friendly, active and busy, they make some noise but are used to having housemates and are respectful of privacy and space. We love nature and the environment, gardening, cycling, playing soccer, hockey and swimming.
Looking for a non-smoking, working professional or serious student. I've hosted for over 25 years and am open to short or long term arrangements. Some have stayed a month or two, others for 6 years! Before my kids were born, I travelled to over 50 countries, curious to learn about different cultures and was ever appreciative of warm welcomes, kind gestures and being made to feel at home.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
