Kim's apartment is located in a great area of the city. It's near the lake and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Another particularly important aspect is the proximity to public transportation, there are street cars right in front of the building and getting to the subway is fast and easy.
The apartment is cozy and very well decorated. Even though I was busy and did not get to spend much time at home, the period that I did spend there was pleasant.
The bedroom is spacious, comfortable and most importantly clean. There is more than enough space for one person. If you are looking for a comfortable bed, space to store your belongings and a large table to study or work, this is the place for you.
Kim's apartment is very well-organized and she likes to keep it that way. If you are someone who likes to live in a clean environment and are willing to follow the rules, adjusting to the new environment should be easy.
This is a homestay, not a hotel. Kim will be there to guide you and to help you with any questions you might have regarding Toronto or Canada. There will be interaction between the host and the guest, like I said before: this is not a hotel, it's Kim's home.
In case you have been to Toronto before you must have noticed that almost everyone is a foreigner. Being able to talk and to live with a Canadian is a rare opportunity. Well, Kim is a true Canadian and she knows this country extremely well. She will give you important tips about Toronto and will tell you stories about other parts of the country as well. She is very honest and will answer your questions in a straightforward manner. Although I did not live with Kim for a very long time, I feel like I have acquired a much deeper understanding about Canada and Canadians in general due to my experience living with her.
I could not have asked for a better homestay, 5 stars for sure. The apartment and its location are fantastic with easy access to the entire city by streetcar, bus or subway. The neighbourhood is filled with cute shops, nice restaurants and is right by the lakeshore. However, the best part of my stay was having Kim as a host. She is very communicative, attentive and pleasant as a host. Kim was also very nice to spend time with as she genuinely cares about her guests. Her knowledge of the city comes in very handy and her cooking is spectacular. I had a brilliant stay and could not recommend Kim and her apartment enough.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
