Bienvenidos! We are a loving, extended family in Orosi. We offer 2 homestays within 1 block of each other. The first is with Yesenia and Sergio and their 3 children (12-19 years old) and 2 pets. The second is with Yesenia's mother Ligia and her husband Walter. Both Yesenia and Ligia have years of hosting experience and look forward to hosting you! We don't speak English and had help creating this profile, but we promise to welcome you into our home and family. Pura vida!

About the Area
Orosi is a wonderfully traditional and safe small town. We live in a central location near a supermarket, bakeries, and stores. You can find almost anything you need here but if you want more of a city feel we're also a short bus ride to Cartago (30 min, bus costs less than 1USD and runs approx. every 15 min).

This was an amazing experience staying with Ligia and Yesenia and I wish had been able to spend more time in Orosi!! It is such a peaceful, small town and not as touristy as most other places I've visited in Costa Rica. I instantly felt like part of the family and hope to go back for longer. I spent the night in Ligia's home which was very comfortable. Ligia and I went to her daughter's for dinner so I got to meet Yesenia and her children. They were all very nice to me. Had I been staying longer the older son invited me to go to a nearby river with some of his friends. Really genuine and warm people. Also this is a great place to practice Spanish! Both Yesenia and Ligia only speak Spanish but are very patient with guests who are learning and don't mind speaking slowly/repeating things. Also Yesenia is a great cook and her gallo pinto was delicious. Overall great experience and I highly recommend!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
