My wife and I have been practicing sustainability as a way of life since 1992. Our home is a large three level round building, built by us, with five bedrooms with their own bathrooms. A central living room with a fireplace and the dinning room overlooking primary tropical forests and the Pacific ocean from 1000 mts above see level. This is a wilderness area. The house is hand made using 80% of vernacular materials. We are crafts people, we made our own furniture and make our own clothes.
We are near waterfalls and natural swimming pools and for the more adventures, a trek the beach 14 km at a National Marine Park. Also, many hiking trails through the woods, specially for naturalists, bird watchers and biologist. Also, for horse lovers, we have our own breed of Andalusian+Costarican paso fino horses, naturally trained (voice and hand, no bits, spurs or whip).
A naturalists kitchen with vegetables from our organic garden. Bake our own bread and pastries. And most of our ingridients for cooking are local.
We enjoy conversations arround the fire place after dinner.

About the Area
Our farm is located on the ridge of the Coastal Range, 3 km from the village of Socorro de Platanares. It is a rural road that requires 4X4 vehicle.
The nearest bus stop is at the village of Socorro, 3 km from the farm and there are local cabs available 24 hrs a day.
The main access road from the Panamerican hwy is 15 km from our place and 30 from Perez Zeledon, that would be the largest city near us.

Place of calm and serenity, the Casa Tordesillas is unique. Firstly for his architecture. The house is decagonal and surmounted by a geodesic dome, source of inspiration for architects. The view was awaited, but when the clouds were gone, we saw how the lands of the finca are situated in a unique place, with a 180 ° view. On one side the sight on the tail of whale of Uvita and another, the high mountains. Go there to take time, to meditate, to watch the birds and clouds flying, to listen the nature... "slow life". The meals are delicious, diverse, healthy and local. Congratulations and thank you to Chema and Marga for this moment of opening and sharing your beautiful life. ¡Pura vida!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
