We are a couple who moved from busy urban life in London to live up here in the mountains of National Park Risnjak in the beautiful rural village of Crni Lug. We enjoy this location due to its peacefulness, nature and wildlife. We rescued a Golden Retriever (Patcha), White Labrador (Snowy) and Tigar the cat and they love it here too.
We live in a lovely, authentic and spacious traditional mountain family house built in 1930tees and are mostly busy with its ongoing restorations, the house upkeep and the gardening. We enjoy meeting our guests who venture out to explore our location and catering for them. In spare time we enjoy hiking, walking, cycling and exploring the beautiful Adriatic coast nearby.

About the Area

Crni Lug (Black Woodland) is a quaint mountain village in Gorski Kotar region of Croatia. Being situated at the foot of the mountain Risnjak, it's surrounded by lush green meadows and dark coniferous forest, after which the village got it's name. It is located at an altitude of 700m. This picturesque mountain village is famous thanks to the Risnjak National Park. Near Crni Lug is the main entrance to the national park. Mountains of Snježnik and Risnjak were declared a national park back in 1953 due to very diverse flora and fauna, and very well preserved diverse forest communities. The park is inhabited by three large carnivores of Europe - wolves, bears, and lynx. A few hours of hiking to the top of Risnjak mount 1528m offers stunning views of Adriatic Bay and panoramic mountain view. Kupa River source spring at 321m is another recommended nature location to see. The village of Crni Lug has a small local shop, a pub Lug and a restaurant NP Risnjak. The nearest ATMs, Petrol/Gas Station, train and bus station is in the town of Delnice, 12km away. Nearest airports of Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka, Ljubljana are two hrs drive.

We had the use of a full kitchen in the apartment and dining area. There was a balcony off the main double bedroom. It’s a very small village with one hotel, one small store and one church. We were lucky enough to be invited to a community party at the school and that was a load of fun. Kevin and Ana are very friendly and wanted to
Make our stay as comfortable as possible.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?
