The house The Mediterranean Scent is located at the beginning of the bay of Stari Grad on the island Hvar, surrounded by family villas. Although little, this house has the soul and warmth of a kind host. Due to the Mediterranean climate on island Hvar you are welcome to stay here from even during the whole year.
My husband and me, both in 60est, live in the same house. We always meet our guests in Stari Grad port by car and drive them to home. We love to communicate and help our guests.
There is less than five minutes walk from the house to the beautiful, warm sea and the main beach with pebbly and cliffs. The old town center is 15 minutes walk away and the road passes through the deep shade of pine trees.
The apartment in the house is on the first floor and has a large sunny terrace. It is fully furnished and equipped for 4-5 persons, suitable for families, couples and young people. It has all the amenities of home and it is decorated in Mediterranean host. The interior is renovated in 2012.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with king bed, and another with two separated beds. There is also the baby bed in the apartment. The dining room, kitchen and the bathroom are fully and modern equipped, too. You can also cook food on the barbecue on the terrace and use the fresh herbs we cultivate in the garden.
In the house garden, under old cypress and olive trees you can have a nice rest in deckchairs surrounded by rosemary, laurel, rose-bays and lavender.
Not far from the house there is a grocer’s shop and in the center of the town well supplied supermarket, vegetables and fish market, restaurants, bank, doctor, pharmacy etc.
CHILDREN ARE VERY WELCOME
• For our smallest guests we offer baby-cot, protective socket and enclosed garden.
We provide babysitting and childcare few hours a day or evening according to the parents need.

About Stari Grad
Croatia is the European, Mediterranean country with more than thousand islands. One of them is Hvar, the sunniest of them, which is proclaimed as one between ten the most beautiful island s in the world. The island Hvar is famous for its pleasant Mediterranean climate. It is characterized by gentle winters, warm summers and many hours of sunshine (2,718 hours a year). Economy is based on tourism, fishing, farming, viticulture, olive growing and especially on cultivation of rosemary and lavender.
Stari Grad on island Hvar has often daily ferry connections to Split, other Croatian harbors (two times a week to Dubrovnik and Rijeka during the season) and to Ancona in Italy. There is a very good, modern highway across Croatia to Split and the airport quite near this city.
Visit Stari Grad (old Pharos), small town on the island Hvar, be part of its 2300 year old history. It was based by old Greeks in 384 B.C. and you can see numerous archaeological sites.
Stari Grad plain and the Historic center of Stari Grad were inscribed on UNESCO List of the World Heritage sites on July 8th, 2008. The famous Procession “Following the Cross”, which holds each year from the 17th century on Thursday before Easter, is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, too.
Walk around Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in Europe, discover the secrets of the beginnings of civilization, try the fruits of the Stari Grad Plain, breathe in the scent of lavender, offer your palate an excellent wine, relax in the hidden Stari Grad bays, enjoy.
Regardless of which way you decide to walk around Stari Grad streets, you will feel a peacefulness that can only be provided by that feeling of the past that is still so present in this area.
If you decide to spend your vacation in Stari Grad on island Hvar, you will be able to visit the surrounding with lot of villages with its simple rural stony architecture, as well as Hvar, world famous touristic place with lot of restaurants, disco clubs and miscellaneous night life.
You can also choose cycling tours, diving pearls, sailing around the island or climbing up to the top of island Hvar. You will listen the romantic traditional songs, unique in the world, which sing the men’s groups, guitar concerts, see a lot of theathre performances.
Friendly people, well-indented coast, numerous picturesque and intact beaches and bays, virgin nature, very rich historical and cultural inheritance, the scents of lavender, olive trees and wine are the reasons that island Hvar welcomes more and more tourists each year.

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
