GOOD BED, FOOD AND HOST

My family and I stayed in July 2017 in the casa of Clara Zaida. We had a very great time. Her Son and daughter in law helped us arranging our bus trips and casas to/in other cities. And gave us a tour a whole day through Havana for an upfront agreed price. This was far most the best casa we had in Cuba. The room was big enough for 4 persons and very clean. Only in this casa the room was cleaned each day and we got each day clean towels. I can really recommand to have dinners in this casa, because Aida can cook very Well. The most important thing is that Marcos and Aida speak quite good English. The casa is in a suburb of Havana, which gave us a good impression of the real life in Havana. We have never felt uncomfortable in this neighborhood.

Clara is not the host,expect Marcos,"son"to collect the fee.Do not ride with him in his1980 Lada,dangerous and he will offer to give you free tour and at check out will charge you $50 each ride.Room was ok but don't expect it to be serviced daily.His girl friend cooks,simple but good at dinner,$10.This is very congested neighborhood,projects,casa under repair,dirty streets,so if you want to see real city,this is for you.Marcos n Ida are very nice and try to make your stay nice.

I was a bit nervous about my trip to Cuba with limited communication and internet access.

I was able to hire a taxi who ultimately called Marco/Ida and got directions to their home.

I cannot recommend Marco & Ida any higher, extremely pleasant, intelligent, helpful and fun. My trip to Cuba was a 10+ due to their kindness, patience and hospitality.

I had a great breakfast every morning and asked to have dinner with them twice, easily the best meals I had while in Cuba.

The room is excellent. completely separate and secure, a very comfortable bed I slept as long as I liked.

Marco seemed to know someone everywhere and was helpful in bartering for me as well as being a great guide providing insights into life there at every turn; as we stopped into auto parts stores and groceries.

If you can, go to le musica with them soooo fun!

an incredible trip and great accommodation! the hosts made tre trip for us - they were incredibly friendly and we literally hung out with them
for the entire trip. Marcos was very a huge help for us, gave. us yours and showed us the best spots in Havana. These guys made the trip for us, everyone should stay with them.

As far as the room it is separate from the main entrance of the house which was nice since we had a bit more privacy. Hot water and air conditioning were a HUGE plus and they consistently re loaded the fridge which was nice. we had breakfast every morning which typically consisted of fruit, bread, and eggs- coffee, tea, and fresh squeezed juice was also there everyday! We did eat a lot of meals with the family (lunch and dinner) which were better than eating out, Ida is an absolutely wonderful cook and taught us so much about the cuban cooking world.

The house is in a great place, about a 10 minute to drive to Old Havana and is right in the middle of Monaco. We were able to walk down the street and have access to a market, bank, and wifi which was very nice. Wifi is pretty rare so having it a block away was very convenient although we didn't really use it to often.

Overall if you're looking at your options I would highly recommend this house. One of the best home rentals I have been too and the people are just absolutely incredible humans. we will definitely be back to visit this family again and know we have made lifelong friends from this trip! thank you! we love you!

I came to visit Cuba with my mom and a friend, and we stayed in Marcos’s house for the two nights that we were in Havana. Marcos was an amazing host! He always made sure we were comfortable! When we first arrived Marcos helped us plan our trip around Cuba – recommending different activities and places to go. Marcos helped us get bus tickets to Vinales, gave us a tour around Havana, and drove us to different places when we needed it. He recommended places to eat and sights to see! When we headed to Vinales, Marcos also booked our stay with another Casa, where we also had a very pleasant experience. Marcos was a magnificent host and made our stay in Havana wonderful and our trip to Cuba something of ease.

The room we stayed in at Marcos’s Casa was very clean and comfortable. We got clean towels every night we were there. We also had our own bathroom which was convenient. The breakfast which was included was delicious and very complete! Lunch and dinner were also available for an extra reasonable cost and that was delicious also!

I stayed with my friend on our first night in Havana and Cuba at Clara Zaida's place. We were looked after very well by Maro and Aida, her son and daughter in law, who made us feel immediately at home. On arrival we were offered a welcome cold drink and they offered a homemade seafood lunch at a very reasonable price. The place was clean and comfortable and Maro and Aida drove us into the old city of Havana and personally gave us a personal tour of their city over the afternoon which was fantastic.
