We felt really welcome in this casa. The host explains everything (casa and the city) and we've got a welcome drink when we arrived.
Also, you've got your own entree.
It is a family business and everyone helps. We would go back if we are going to havana again.
I rarely write reviews, but I felt inspired to share my experience at Hostal Mirahabana. The hostal itself is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood of Havana. It is near the Plaza de la Revolucion, which isn't so close to Old Havana but is a short taxi ride away. I actually came to appreciate the distance because Old Havana was so noisy, busy and dirty at times. My room in the hostal had its own sitting area and balcony, which was wonderful. There was a safe, and things were locked up and felt very safe. The breakfast, which was included in the price of the room was excellent. Think fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, pastry, bread, egg, sandwich, etc. The breakfast was enough food for breakfast and lunch. Apart from the space itself, the service at this hostal was absolutely AMAZING. Claudia is the life blood of this place. She is so kind, so responsible, so helpful; it's like a concierge service. She was always around and helped us with everything we needed from daily taxis to transfers to the airport and other cities to making dinner reservations. She was literally always on class. I cannot recommend this place more if you want a comfortable, friendly, and effortless stay in Havana!
We had a great time by Maridely. Very kind staff, clean rom. homely atmophere.

“Cuban delight habana magic”
Mary, Fernando, Claudia, Juanita and Nanita have to be the most helpful and delightful Cuban folk. Nothing ever seemed too much of a problem. Broken English was a communication challenge but we overcame this. They arranged airport pickup and return with really safe drivers. We had no planned tours other than go to Trinidad but these claudia was able to guide and assist in organizing transport to satisfy our all our whims including a trip to Vinales for hand made cigar farm and manufacture
Accommodation was very clean and breakfast a delight with fruit juice fresh fruit and eggs of various sorts
Strongly recommend as homestay style accommodation
This was our first homestay. Maridely and the wonderful staff have set the bar very high! From the warm welcome, yummy breakfasts, pristine rooms, help booking trips and finding things to do, we could not have asked for a better time in Havana. Thank you Mary and your lovely team--besos!
Maridely and Fernando are excellent hosts and have a lovely home. The other members of the household also made the experience incredible. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this homestay.
Maridely, Claudia, and the house staff were more than welcoming and great with us during our stay. They helped us arrange trasnportation, book houses to stay in other cities, book tours, and cooked for us the most delicious breakfast every day. The house was extremly clea and the, AC works perfectly. They are really great people to stay with, gracias por todo!!
At first I was a little nervous about the concept of a homestay; however after reading such great reviews I decided to book three nights with Maridely. This is one of the best decisions I could have made!
The accommodation is beautifully decorated and spacious. The whole house is exceptionally clean and has a lovely positive atmosphere. The staff that work at the house (in particular Nenita and Jjanita are adorable). The surrounding area feels safe and as a single women I felt happy to walk around with the maps that I was so kindly given when I arrived (marking on the local shops/change/buses.) The 'red room' where I stayed had a lovely veranda where I could sit each night and watch the world go by.
Maridely not only helped me to book taxis, tours and restaurants, she was also genuinely interested in my day and plans. The whole family were friendly and considerate. Everyone had at least a basic level of English - communication was never a problem. Even when I stupidly could not work the safe (twice) her husband was more than happy to assist me.
The breakfast was some of the nicest food I had in Cuba, and kept me full until mid afternoon.
I am already considering when I can next visit Cuba just to return to this homestay. I could not imagine there being a better place to stay. Thank you so much Maridely! x x
