The Hostal Muralla 405 offers a family-friendly and comfortable service to its guests. It is located in the heart of the historic center of Old Havana, on Muralla and Aguacate streets, near Plaza Vieja (400m walk), Plaza del Cristo and the National Capitol (500m walk), in an excellent location.
Ideal for families, friends or couples, in the hostel you can interact with the hostess to get suggestions and tips on what to do in Havana!
The rooms have a private ensuite bathroom, air conditioning (split), minibar, door locks, safe, hair dryer and fan. The toilets or bathrooms in our rooms are private, they are inside the rooms and have hot water 24 hours a day.
Guests can also use the rest of the spaces in the house: living room - dining room, hall, kitchen and exteriors facing the street.We offer breakfast service with an additional fee, shared taxi to Viñales, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Varadero, among others; pick-up and transfer to the airport, parking for rented cars and organizing tours and excursions around the city.
The rooms "Laura and Rodney" and "Rodney and Laura" are located on the facade of the building with balconies facing the street, so it is possible to hear street noises during the night such as passing cars, some street music or passers-by.
To access the hostel you have to climb 40 steps to the first level and 60 steps from the street to the second level. We have a luggage elevator, but people have to climb the stairs on their own feet.
We are passionate about interacting with our guests: the host in Havana is Mary, Laura's mother, and you can count on her to talk about the details of Havana life, places to go and visit, the main museums, squares, streets and typical activities to do. As well as practical advice about banks, markets, transportation, etc.
Once the reservation is completed by Homestay, the rest of the payment must be sent by bank transfer or Bizum a few days before your arrival. I will write to you to give you the account details and organize your pick-up at the airport. Welcome home!

Hostal Muralla 405 is located in the historic center of Old Havana, on Muralla Street No. 405 between Villegas and Aguacate. Close to places of cultural interest and just 400 meters from Plaza Vieja and the Capitol, in an ideal location to walk to the historic center of Havana, its museums, squares, restaurants and places of interest. Our rules:
- For the triple room, there is an increase of 5€ or 5usd for the third guest, which is not included in the price of the room.
- Do not smoke in the room.
- When leaving the room, you must turn off the lights, air conditioning and fan.
- Do not use the air conditioning with the windows, balcony or doors open.
- Do not place wet towels or clothes on the furniture in the room.
- In case of loss of house keys, please report it immediately.
- As this is a family home, we do not allow prostitution, drug consumption or the visit of girls or boys without prior registration in our house. For our safety and yours!
- We suggest that you leave your passport, the rest of your personal documentation and money in the safe in your room. In Havana, you only need your passport to change money at the bank or at Cadeca.
- On the day of your departure, we appreciate that you leave your room free before 12:00 pm. You can leave your luggage at our house until the taxi comes to pick it up and use the guest toilet.
We are at your disposal for any help or information you need, as well as to help you plan your trip to Cuba!

Es war einfach wunderbar. Mary und ihren Mann haben sich um uns wie Familie gekümmert. Ich habe die lieben Menschen ins Herz geschlossen. Die Zimmers sind sauber und es wird jeden Tag geputzt. Das Casa befindet sich in der besten Lage Havana’s. Ich empfehle es weiter.

Ich würde auch doppelt so viele Sterne geben! Schon vor der Reise wird man mit wichtigen Infos für Kuba versorgt. Das Frühstück ist lecker und reichlich. Die Zimmer mit Balkon sind super schön, allerdings hört man das Leben in der Straße. Mich hat es nicht gestört, es gehört zu Havanna. Dafür ist man auch mittendrin in der Altstadt. Alles fußläufig. Top Zimmerreinigung . Ich liebe diese Gastfamilie! Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt! Danke für alles!

Una experiencia excelente! Mary, quien cuida la casa y sus huéspedes, es una anfitriona maravillosa. Me he sentido como en casa y esto ha hecho que la experiencia en La Habana fuera aún más especial. Los desayunos preparados por su marido Carlos son deliciosos y se ve que todo está hecho con un cariño muy especial. Recomiendo la casa de Laura a cualquiera que pase por la ciudad porque además la posición es perfecta! Muchas gracias por todo!!

Estuvimos 3 días, Mary fue una excelente anfitriona, atenta a nuestras necesidades.
Nos dio información valiosa sobre sims, moneda, dónde comer y cómo desplazarse.
La habitación era espaciosa, limpia y equipada con un baño pequeño y había uno más grande disponible.

Un alojamiento excelente para el primer contacto con cuba. En la habana vieja, muy céntrico para poder visitar la ciudad pero sin ruidos. Tiene varias habitaciones por lo que entre los anfitriones y otros visitantes los consejos para visitar la ciudad ayudan mucho. Los desayunos son alucinantes, no solo ricos sino también muy abundantes. La habitación con cama doble, armario, aire acondicionado,ventilador, nevera y caja fuerte. Baño privado. Todo muy limpio. Un trato estupendo de toda la familia

Esta casa es lo mejor de nuestro viaje a Cuba. Ellos, la pareja que lleva la casa, Mary y Carlos, son seres de luz, llenos de generosidad, sabiduría, cariño y amor. Además de que la casa no puede estar más céntrica, está limpísima y tiene caja fuerte, los desayunos de esta casa superaron nuestras expectativas. El agradecimiento es infinito, os la recomiendo, no solo por lo que ofrece a nivel servicios, sino por la calidad humana. Un reserva asegurada si quieres enamorarte de Cuba.

Perfecta nuestra estancia! Mari nos ayudó con todo desde organizarnos taxis privados o colectivos, recomendaciones de restaurantes, y el mejor desayuno que tuvimos en Cuba por 5 euros, la presión de la ducha bien y ningun problema con la luz.

How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
