It is a large house located in a building from the beginning of the last century (1938) which is kept in very good condition and retains its style of the era on the outside and inside the house. Sorry Hector for the lateness of this review. There seems to be turmoil everywhere these days.
I am not unfamiliar with Havana but my stay at Hector's was especially helpful in accommodating
the changes from the pre to post Covid realities in Havana and Cuba. Perhaps, it simplest to say that Hector and his wife are truely prime examples of the of the dignity, courage and humanity that is present in most Cubans. The Casa is central to most areas that interest me, the university, Vedado and both Havana Centro and Vieja. The rooms are very well maintained and Hector is an excellent resource person with an intimate knowledge of Cuban history and culture as well as educated and compassionate appreciation of the background of his clients. The Casa is extraordinary as it presents an opportunity for the guest to acquire a profound appreciation for Cuba while comfortably expressing perspectives that may be somewhat "foreign" the Cuban Experience.
My week at Hectors's Casa provided me the tranquillity to transition to the Havana 2023 and to made my time there both productive and pleasant.
Many thanks to Hector, I believe that he was instrumental in re-introducing the best of Havana in a changing world.

Very clean and nice place to feel at home. The house is located on a relatively quiet street in busy central Havana. Hector and Lourdes are a very friendly, helpful, and sweet couple. Strongly recommended.

Hola,
the time with Hecor & Lourdes was very nice! Starting every day with a delicious breakfast and a lot of helpful support of Hector in English we enjoyed a nice time of three days in Havanna. Hector helped with general possibilities of traveling through Cuba and places to see. Thanks a lot!!!

June 2019

Hector is the best host! We couldn’t get the better one! I really recommend him!
He is THE LEGEND! ❤️May 2019
Céline and I both enjoyed our stay at Hector's very much! He helped us planing the whole trip, gave us adresses in other towns, told us everything we wanted to know about la Habana and kept some of our luggage until we would go back to the Airport in the end. He and Lourdes made us feel very welcomed. At the end of our trip we returned earlier than planned and therefore stayed another night at their house. It felt like coming home and everything was just as nicely as the first time including Hector's little history lesson which he presented with lots of passion and patience. :-)
We would absolutely stay there again and can only recomand those two lovely people to everyone!

Last december we stayed at Hector's upon arrival in Cuba. They warmly took us in their casa. Hector had already arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and arranged that he would pay in advance for us so we didn't have to endlessly wait in line for the ATM at the airport. This way we could withdraw the money the day after at a more convenient moment. We actually enjoyed our stay this much that we came back at the end of our trip to spend our last day as well in this casa before we returned home. Very hospitable, friendly, took time to point us in the direction of several highlights and understands English as well.

Hello everybody. Let me tell you something. Hector's casa was out first stay in Cuba. Hector goes all the way to make the stay as welcoming and pleasant as possible. As, we planned only a few days for Havanna Hector ha shown us the must-see places to visit in our limited time. We also really enjoyed all the talks and discussions in the evening. Staying with hector was our best choice in the whole cuba-trip, as Hector was the welcoming and most friendly person we met in cuba. BEST START IN CUBA EVER. Thank you very much for that.
PS: Your english is way better than you think ;)
