Hector was the most amazing host we had for our entire Cuba trip. He really took the time to talk with us and he is extremely friendly and a wonderful person! Also, his room had the best shower we had in Cuba! I would recommend this casa to anyone visiting Havana. Sending our love to Hector and Lourdes ❤
If we could, we'd give Hector and Lourdes 10 stars, because they were just the best of the best! Lovely, kind people, welcoming hosts, and overall generous with their time and their knowledge. Hector made sure we had all the information we needed about the neighborhood and our travels, but also took the time to answer our many questions about Cuban life and culture. This kindness and wisdom were a huge added value to our experience, and coupled with comfortable beds, an excellent shower, a delicious breakfast and a great location made our experience truly perfect. Thank you Hector and Lourdes!
VERY HIGHLY recommended!
My 3-week-trip to Cuba started at Hector's place and what can I say? It was like meeting a well known friend or someone from your own family! They made me feel home from the very first moment and I really fell in love with the atmosphere they spread! The house is perfectly located, very clean and calm (a luxury for Havanna). It was a pity that a friend of mine already booked other casas, because I could have stayed at least half a year with these lovely people! Soon I'll be back for more conversation! Un abrazo fortísimo para los dos <3
Everybody needs a Hector in their life. I landed in Cuba without a plan, any casas booked or tickets anywhere. Hector greeted me with literal open arms. From there we had breakfast and he pulled out his maps. He told me his favorite parts of the city. And where was good to walk. His recommendations were on point. Everything from apps (the map.me app) to restaurants to which museums I could skip were what I needed. He is a treasure trove of information. He even organized my bus ticket and casas in other cities. In a country with limited WiFi Hector is your infomap for anything and everything. I will be back. Thanks Hector.
Hector and Lourdes were truly hospitable and amazing hosts. Even though it was just one night, they gave us a lot of good information, tips and they were very helpful. Hector’s english was very good. The location was also great to explore the city. Muchas Gracias, Hector y Lourdes!
Hector and Lourdes are really nice persons. I enjoyed staying at their house so much, they really made me feel at home. They gave me all necessary information so that I could discover Havanna the way I liked to. Moreover, I had interesting chats with them about Cuba. Thanks for everything Hector and Lourdes!
Seriously, stop looking and book with Hector and Lourdes. They were absolutely awesome hosts, and they made our entire stay in Cuba (not just in Havana) memorable. First of all, they are extremely lovely and warm people who really looked after us, literally welcoming us with open arms. My friend is 'gluten free', and Hector went above and beyond to make sure she was catered for in the mornings for breakfast. He also helped us organise our trip around Cuba by booking us in with friends of his around the island, who were all wonderful to us. Their house is beautiful with a nice balcony to enjoy, as well as comfy beds and a clean bathroom. The location couldn't be better either, being walking distance to old Havana, the Malecon, as well as 'new Havana' - the centre of restaurants, bars and clubs. We loved our time with them and we now consider them friends of ours in Havana.
Dear travelers and Cuba enthusiasts - you are searching for a nice place to reside during your stay in Havana? I´s good advice to stop your search now and try to rent a room at this lovely casa particular of Lourdes & Hector immediately. You will find a very comfortable place with nice rooms and a perfect service as well. Besides the well-equipped bedrooms with air conditioning, refrigerator and ventilator you will have access to a very nice balcony and a nice living room (also used for serving breakfast). Lourdes and Hector are the finest people you can possibly imagine. They are truly interested in their guests on a personal level and have obviously fun welcoming people from all over the world. They will always be prepared to assist you in planning your trip (both in advance and during your stay) or just to have a worthwhile conversation. As a little morning ritual I really liked to talk to Hector during having breakfast. Thereby, as a relatively unexperienced traveler I learned a lot about the country, the people of Cuba and many things more. Hector knows a lot of other people that are managing casa particulars all over the island and he will help you in organizing further accommodations. Thank you Lourdes & Hector, see you next time! Sebastian
Sebastian
This is a great place to stay! I was here for 7 nights. It is an excellent location between Centro Havana and Vedado, with many restaurants nearby. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. While Hector doesn't speak much English, it is enough to get by. It helps if you speak a little Spanish, and Hector is more than happy to have you practice with him. The room and private bathroom were large and cleaned daily, and there was a substantial breakfast provided daily.
There was also a bar fridge in the room. Hector even arranged my taxi to the airport. There is not a single negative thing that I can say about this casa, and I hope I will return to stay in the future.
We had a great stay at Hector and Lourdes.
They are lovely people and Hector was so helpful, meeting us at the airport and assisting with money changing and Wifi etc.
The room and shower were very clean and serviced daily.
We found it very easy to walk to Old Havana.
We would highly recommend this Homestay!
