A centenary republican-style house, completely refurbished with six welcoming double rooms and a spectacular patio. A house with charm and attention to details that provides all means to relax in this authentic Havana spot and experience the city from a different perspective.
Located in Santos Suárez, an authentic off-beaten-path neighborhood about 10 minutes away from Havana's touristic centers, The Key of the Gulf offers its guests the possibility to discover an authentic, unexplored side of the city. All rooms have air conditioning, individual lock, private bathroom and safe.
The house offers an ample hall with porch, dining room for eight, terrace and patio, with a small balinese-style plunge pool to refresh in the summer's hottest days.
Jorge welcomes the guests and it is all in his hands to make them feel at home. He also cooks breakfast, assists with tips and recommendations to explore the city and tries to solve all issues that might come up.
Guest accommodation is included in the rate. The following fees and deposits are charged by the property at time of service, check-in, or check-out.

About the Area
The Key of the Gulf is located in Santos Suárez, an authentic neighborhood located about 10-15 minutes by car from the main touristic centers (Vedado, Habana Vieja, Malecón ...). There are public transportation options a couple blocks away in the main streets surrounding the house: October 10 and Lacret.

This is really a wonderfull place in crowded Havana. Excellent service, great food, wonderful garden and nicely designed rooms. Jorge and the crew did all they could to make us the greatest stay at the casa. Highly recommended!!! You won't be disappointed

Jaun was a superb host, providing delicious meals, which he clearly loves doing and as a bonus was great company. After a long day exploring, it was wonderful to slip into the plunge pool to cool off and relax in the lovely, lush garden with one of Juan's special drinks. Juan has lovingly, and carefully restored the house to comfortable splendour. Although, some people from the UK or USA might feel a little concerned about the appearance of the neighbourhood, you really should not; neighbours are out in the streets relaxing in the evening, chatting and children are playing and it's really safe. The house is clean, comfortable and quiet and after a day out and about, we found it was a quiet, relaxing retreat to recharge our batteries. Juan could not do enough to advise and help us.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
