I had a wonderful 6-day stay with Alina and her twin daughters. Alina is a gentle and polite host. Very knowledgeable and speaks good English. She helped me arranged transport to various sights and advised me on local culture and happenings. We often have chats in the morning after breakfast if I am not rushing out the door, or when I return in the evenings. My room is spacious and clean with air-con and a little refrigerator. The room is cleaned everyday and bed sheets and towel were changed after the 3rd day. Very nice!! Alina's home is well located. I could walk to the Malecon and Calle 23 and onto La Rampa easily. There're also two cemetaries nearby, the Spanish and Chinese. It's a nice and safe neighbourhood. Alina made my stay a memorable one in Havabana. Mucho gracias! Xoxo

Had a nice stay with Alina who is a very good host who speaks English and does all she can to make your stay pleasant. Room is very quiet and clean. Mattress needs replacing on double bed as it's very lumpy but I slept perfectly on it. House is in a nice but suburban area but it is a taxi ride to Havana's famous sights. Also I found it a annoying not to have key. I did not feel I could stay out late as it meant keeping Alina up to let me in.

Staying with Alina and her daughters in Vedado made our trip to Cuba truly wonderful. Alina not only treated us like family, but arranged several taxi rides and dinner reservations. We had lovely conversations over breakfast, and it was such a nice home to return after very hot days in Havana. The location is great, as well. There is a cool book store/cafe across the street called Cuba Libro, a good and reasonably priced restaurant called Karma just a block and a half away. Fabrica del Arte is an amazing art museum/dance club that is about six blocks away. Next to it is a chic, fancy restaurant called El Cocinero that we loved. About a 15 minute walk away on the Malecon is Casa 1830, which has incredible gardens and salsa dancing some nights of the week. Alina's English is very good, and I will recommend that any friend traveling to Havana to stay at her house!

We had a fantastic time at Alinas casa! She was so helpful and caring and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Very handy with tips on where to go, where to eat, what to do and cheap taxi arrangements. Her place is a walk away from some great restaurants, an amazing Art Factory and a great sandwhich bar! The room had everything we needed and was well serviced. Heads up - the bed is very soft! Alina and her daughters are so lovely and we are so glad to have stayed with them. Highly recommend :)

I was a solo female traveler in Havana and Alina was so welcoming and helpful... The location is very good, not close to the touristy city center but rather in a local area, the centro is a cheap cab or bus ride away. Room was lovely and clean. Would definitely stay at Alina's again.

We were very pleased with Alina's casa. Our private bedroom was on the main floor with a private 3-piece bath. That was nice. The room looks out to a private courtyard. Alina provides a sweet cafe-set in the courtyard to use whenever you want to sit and read, or just enjoy the morning air. Even though the family slept on the main floor as well, the house was very quiet and peaceful. Having a mini-fridges in our room made it possible to head out each day with a chilled bottle of water or cool fruit. That was very nice.
Alina made many excellent suggestions for tours, restraunts, and transportation.
This casa does not get the full five stars because we found the bed to be quite small. My husband is 6'2" and the regular double bed was "tired". I would suggest two single beds that could be joined together, if need be. That would allow traveling companions to choose their sleeping arrangements. I travel with girlfriends and I don't mind sharing a room, I just don't want to share a bed.
We wish Alina and her daughters the best of luck and great success. They are wonderful.
