I had a wonderful stay with Enrique in Vedado, Havana. Located in a very handy area, near the Melia Cohiba. A very nice, clean, safe , independant studio apartment with great ac, a fridge, a kitchenette, a nice view, and a safe for valuables. Looking forward to going back to stay !

Our very first stay in a 'Casa' in Cuba was with Luis. He made us feel welcome and was the perfect guide to the area. We stayed in an ocean view apartment on the 7th floor overlooking Havana. Tips for enjoying breakfast and dinner were spot-on, as were his tips for getting around Havana by car (which we could park for 2CUC/day at his house). Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Enrique's place! The appartment was exactly as advertised and it served us very well during the holidays. Enrique was an excellent host: in regard to the check-in procedure, (emergency) contact during our stay and check-out, Enrique always communicated very promptly and showed a great passion to find the best solution for our needs! I can recommend him without any hesitations if you look for an affordable, nice and decent accommodation in Havana! Best, Nicolas

This was our first time visiting Cuba and my wife and I really wanted to experience the "real Cuba". So for us that meant we wanted to be amongst the local people. We chose to rent the Orange D'Paseo Terry from Luis for a number of reasons. The foremost reason being that, based on the reviews of others, my sense was that Luis is a rock-solid caring type of guy with a lot of integrity. We were not disappointed. He's a gentle soul with an outstanding desire to help make people happy. Since we only know about 6 works in Spanish and had no idea of what to expect when in Cuba it was important (and comforting) for us to be able to rely on someone who could guide us and make suggestions. Luis provided a cell phone for us to communicate directly with him if we ever needed anything or got into trouble. He also checked up on us every couple of days to make sure everything was okay. Other places were cheaper sure, but for us having a good man we could rely on at any time was well worth the extra. THANKS LUIS!
Okay, about the apartment. As I'm sure you gathered from the other positive reviews here, the apartment is very clean, smartly renovated/decorated. The beds are comfortable and there is a small safe in each room.
Two things I would like to mention. The first is that it will probably take you a while to get the hang of using the water. With the exception of commercial facilities, I've been told most water systems in Cuba are gravity fed from the roof tops of the buildings. Therefore the pressure will probably be less that what you're used to. Luis has a pump installed to help but it needs to see a certain water flow before it will start. That means sometime you have to open another tap to get the shower to work as an example. Use the cold water to get it going not the hot. Once it's flowing you can shut the "helper tap".
Second, somebody made a comment regarding having to put your used toilet paper in the garbage. I just thought I'd mention that again with the exception of commercial facilities, it is true for everyone not just this apartment.

Luis was a phenomenal host from the beginning of our trip until the end! I will always try to book him again in the future! The location of the place couldn't have been more perfect! It's less than a min away from the Malecon overlooking the carribean sea! Just a 3 min cab ride to Old Havana, 30 min cab ride to the beautiful beaches etc! The place was well organized with a mini fridge! The cleaning lady came in twice as well! Luis gave us a local phone to use to reach him for anything! He is very helpful and there for you for anything!
Muchos Gracias Luis!

It took some improvisation and search to get in touch with Luiz after we arrived for check in, but after we met everything was incredibly well organized. Luiz even gave us a local phone so we could reach him anytime.
The apartment was cosy, clean, with a great view and in the best neighborhood for an authentic Havana feel.
But most of all, Luiz is the best host ever!!!

We stayed at d'dany. It was on the first floor and the flat is in a block amongst locals. Although there are windows there is no view, just another wall. However there are some benches at the front of the block where you can sit in the evening and people watch. Host was fantastic as other reviews have said. We were not sure what the cleaning arrangements were but as we were happy to do our own cleaning it's was not a problem, but you may wish to check. When existing the block if you turn right there is a fruit and veg place just after the fire station. Across the road under a kids clothes shop is a mini supermarket. Wifi is on 14 and 16 in a park / square. you can buy wine at the shops on the way to the cemetery.

The apartment (Terry) is quite nice, well located and available for a reasonable price. Luis is a very friendly and helpful host. He organised us a private taxi to Vinales and also a very nice accommodation there. If you want to stay in Havanna, that's the right choice . Thank's a lot Luis.
