A house with a very special history that is supported by photos, bullet holes and fragments of a grenade/bomb. Elio is happy to tell you more about it. Elio's wife is a treasure of a human being. She gave us the best breakfast during our trip through Cuba. Make sure you are hungry because she will make sure you don't have to eat again until the evening. Elio gave us real cigars, not made from banana leaves. ;o) So don't buy them on the street, just ask Elio about them if you are interested. We were able to park our rental car safely within a few minutes' walk on other people's private property for a small fee. We felt very welcome and at home here. Feel free to book. You won't be disappointed
If I may make a request of anyone reading this review: Elio's wife uses a hearing aid. Batteries are difficult to obtain. If you book in advance and would like to bring something (useful) for your hostess, ask which batteries she needs. If only I had known this.

Beautiful, classic casa, I felt like in a palace.
The hosts welcomed me very warmly, like a member of the family.
They recommended the most interesting places to visit and good local restaurants.
I received a hearty breakfast and was taken to the station by a classic old motorcycle :)
Highly recommended, my best accommodation in Cuba.Host reply

Elio y Mary son unos anfitriones muy acogedores. Nos han ayudado en todo y explicado la historia de la ciudad. Hemos estado muy cómodos en la preciosa casa. El patio es encantador. Esperamos poder volver!

Their house is such a beautiful place to be at. Love to just sit in their little garden and enjoy the peace. Their breakfast was one of the best I had in whole Cuba. They were also so friendly and love to explain everything about Santa Clara. They even give you a map. Also Elio works in the sigar factory and can explain a lot about it. Lovely people, I loved my stay with them!

Genial estancia en la casa de Elio Manuel! Aunque fue breve, me hicieron sentir muy cómodo en una casa con una habitación muy amplia y muy limpia. La casa, además, está a pocos minutos del centro de Santa Clara.

What a house! If you are looking for real life Cuba this is it. Despite Santa Clara being able to keep most tourists interested for a day at most, the house is so full of charm and history that we would have wanted to stay there for a week. Breakfast (on the patio) was amazing. Elio's wife incredibly sweet. We would recommend their place any time.
