Our private house Hostal Misleidis y Gustavo is a private house that rents rooms for foreign tourists in Trinidad, Cuba. It has become one of the most requested and recommended private lodging houses due to the quality of the service, security and comfort of the rooms. It is located on Mercedes Street, just 50 m from the colonial train station that offers rides to the Valle de los Ingenios; It is also very close to Carrillo Square where the main shopping centers and the telephone service and Wi-Fi internet are located. It has for rent 2 air-conditioned rooms with entrance is independent from the street. Located on the second level of the house, which is for the exclusive use of customers, where there are 2 terraces, balcony overlooking the street, refrigerator and a TV in an area common to both rooms. The rooms are very well ventilated with wall fans and air conditioning and has large windows to allow fresh and natural light to ensure good comfort for customers. Each room has its private interior bathroom, with permanent supply of hot and cold water, in addition to the essential elements for personal hygiene such as soap, shampoo, towels and toilet paper. There is wifi service inside the house.
Misleidis and Gustavo, the hosts, are very friendly people, respect the privacy of the guests but are always available to help and suggest the best places to visit in the villa and its surroundings. They speak ENGLISH. In addition, at the request of their clients they contact city guides and for excursions to nearby beaches, rivers and valleys. The house phone can be used free for local calls and to guarantee the next destination. The house offers breakfast and dinner. They love having clients at home and exchanging experiences. If you wish, you can call a day before your arrival, to inform the route and time of arrival, we can receive them at the viazul station.

Our house is located south of the historical center, quiet and safe neighborhood, very close to the hotel Iberoestar Trinidad and the train that travels to the valley of the mills, also of the unique cavalry barracks of its kind in the Caribbean

The bedroom (room 2) is very basic although it has everything you could need. I have only 1 less positive comment about this room. The air conditioning is not silent and hangs exactly above the small bed. We moved this bed a little bit and I lay down the other way around and then it was fine.
But don't let this stop you from booking!
The room is on the second floor of their house and we had it completely to ourselves. Several places outside where you could sit. Our favorite was the balcony at the road. From here we could observe real Cuban life. People on bicycles through the street, trying to sell their wares like real market vendors. A grandfather who entertains his grandchildren with rides in the wheelbarrow. And so on. It is within walking distance of the old center. And despite it being pitch black due to a power outage, we never felt unsafe when we walked back.
Misleidis and Gustavo are very spontaneous, hospitable and have a good sense of humor. Especially Misleidis is easy to talk to and takes the time to tell you more about the Cuban life. Even if your Spanish is not the best, the way she talks and explains, you will be able to understand. Our (small) rental car fit in their garage (after some quick tidying up by Gustavo). Thanks again Gustavo ;o) Breakfast was good and sufficient.

Prachtige hostel met veel privacy .
Geweldig ontbijt en de familie was zeer gastvrij en spreken goed Engels.
Het hostel is ook zeer centraal gelegen bij de oude binnenstad.
We hebben daar een geweldige tijd gehad.January 2024
Great Casa near the city center. Breakfast was good, hosts were really helpfull. Wifi with etexa-cards was fine as well.

La estancia con Misleidis y su marido fue perfecta, estuvimos muy a gusto en su casa y allí tuvimos los mejores desayunos de nuestro viaje. La casa está a unos 10 minutos del centro andando, es grande y los patios son preciosos. Muy recomendable.

Wonderful homestay! Misledis and Gustavo were the perfect hosts, really friendly, great suggestions on where to go. Recommend booking any tours through them and definitely having their breakfast! Wish we could have stayed longer

La casa es muy acogedora, está limpia, tiene una terraza muy grande que da a un patio lleno de plantas, las habitaciones son cómodas. Los desayunos están fenomenal, incluso son demasiadas cosas y demasiada cantidad y le pedimos que pusiera menos, merece la pena desayunar en la casa. Aunque es una lástima que haya cortes de luz, se puede disfrutar igualmente de Trinidad, por el día no es un problema y por la noche la zona que dejan con luz queda cerca, recomiendo la visita. Nuestra estancia en la casa de Gustavo y Misleidis fue magnífica por diferentes motivos: la ubicación de la casa (a un paso del centro histórico de Trinidad), el equipamiento de la habitación, los estupendos desayunos... pero, sobre todo, ha sido una experiencia inmejorable por el trato que hemos recibido tanto por parte de Misleidis como de su marido, Gustavo y, sobre todo, de su hijo, Alejandro, quien nos atendió personalmente durante toda nuestra estancia. Nos hemos sentido como en casa en todo momento y nos han ayudado con todas las cuestiones que les solicitamos. Volveremos sin duda.

How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
