Gerardo and Vivi are the hosts of the house. We are both professional, Engineer and Doctor respectively retired, our location is 250 m from the beach and within a radius of 500 m there are about 8 restaurants, coffee shops, beverage and food stores, cosmetics and wife area. The room has a separate bathroom, AC, refrigerator, fan, hot and cold water, camera bed only for 2 people. Breakfast service is offered but not meals.

About the Area
The Balcony of ViVi is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood as well as the whole territory, the access stairway is on the right in front of the building, it is located 1.5 km from the center and 20 km from the Varadero airport (15 minutes car), 250 m from the beach, within a radius of 500 m there are restaurants, cafes, shops and bus stop and also wife areas in the surroundings, also in the center.

Preferimos el pago en efectivo, el cual el huésped puede efectuar cuando lo desee. Brindamos servicio de desayuno no así de comidas. No se permiten visitas, no se permite fumar en la habitación, solo se fuma en el balcón, no se ingieren comidas en la habitación, no se permiten mascotas, no se permite el AC con puertas y ventanas abiertas.
Normas Covid-19:
- Es importante limpiar las manos con sustancias desinfectantes con frecuencia.
- Usar el naso buco en la calle.
- Al entrar al apartamento pasar los pies por la frazadas colocadas en la puerta de entrada.

Gerardo and Vivi are fantastic hosts. They always helped us concerning all questions we had so that we felt very well in their apartment and in Varadero right from the very beginning. Every day we could enjoy the nice view from the balcony. The short walk to the sea leads to a paradisiacal stretch of beach. With this accomodation we really had good luck.

Gerardo & Vivi are magnificent hosts. We called one day earlier to book an additional night which turned out not to be a problem. Breakfast was fantastic, as were the conversations with our hosts. Room clean & view wonderful. Short walk from the beach. Definitely would go back if we ever return to Cuba.

Gerardo and Vivi are tremendous hosts, and we enjoyed our time with them very much. Gerardo helped set up a taxi driver to be waiting for us at the airport (with a sign, which was very helpful), and gave tons of great suggestions and advice, and directions to the bus station on departure day (it was just a 10 minute walk away).
The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and of course, we loved starting and ending our days on the balcony. A/C worked like a charm too.
We ended up staying in a number of Casa's over the course of our visit to Cuba, and Gerardo and Vivi, as well as their casa, are right at the top of our list. We look forward to coming back to stay with them.

I have stayed with Gerardo numerous times over the last 5 weeks. He and Vivi his wife are the best. I could praddle on a long time about the wonderful hosts they were. I stayed in many Casas over my time in Cuba but the combination of location and the wonderful, helpful well educated pair that put there hearts into hosting. Highly recommended!

A lovely place to stay! The best Cuban breakfast served every morning on the big balcony just outside the room by always helpful Gerardo . Stayed 4 nights, but could easily stayed longer if vacancy. Recommended!

I was very satisfied with this homestay. I most liked the balcony seating where I could sit and enjoy a beverage with warm tropical breezes and watch the vintage cars drive by.
I volunteer with a group of vets doing spay/neuter on street animals in Cuba and bring them supplies. My hosts were very tolerant of the visitors I had coming to pick up the donations for the vet work. I appreciate that! Nice people, very warm and helpful.
I decided to buy the full breakfast and recommend spending the extra 5 CUC for breakfast-- I received coffee, fresh juice, fresh tropical fruits (banana, papaya and pineapple), toast, a muffin, some cheese and ham and eggs cooked to order. It was a hearty meal that would last you for hours. There is a small refrigerator that came fully stocked with soda, beer and chilled water. These beverages are not free, but they are reasonably priced and certainly after a full day of travel it sure was nice to just pop open a beer and sit on the balcony!This Casa is 3 blocks from the world class beaches of Varadero and two tourist grocery stores are on the way to the beach as well as several restaurants close by. The room gets nice breezes in the morning but in the afternoon you will probably want the fan on and possibly the air conditioner that is in the room if you are in the room when the sun hits that side of the building directly. I was a single female traveler and it is very safe to walk around day or night.
A Casa is a beautiful way to experience a real taste of how Cubans live and work and this Casa was a wonderful experience. I would book again if I was to return to the area.
Estaba muy satisfecho con esta casa de familia. Lo que más me gustó fue el asiento en el balcón donde podía sentarme y disfrutar de una bebida con cálida brisa tropical y ver pasar los autos antiguos.
Soy voluntario con un grupo de veterinarios que realizan esterilización / alimentación en animales de la calle en Cuba y les traigo suministros. Mis anfitriones fueron muy tolerantes con los visitantes que venía a recoger las donaciones para el trabajo veterinario. ¡Soy consciente de que! Gente agradable, muy cálida y servicial.
Decidí comprar el desayuno completo y recomendar gastar los 5 CUC adicionales para el desayuno. Recibí café, jugo fresco, frutas tropicales frescas (plátano, papaya y piña), tostadas, un panecillo, un poco de queso y jamón y huevos cocinados a pedido. . Fue una comida abundante que duraría horas. Hay un pequeño refrigerador que estaba completamente abastecido con refrescos, cerveza y agua fría. Estas bebidas no son gratuitas, pero tienen un precio razonable y, ciertamente, después de un día completo de viaje, ¡fue agradable abrir una cerveza y sentarse en el balcón!Esta casa está a 3 cuadras de las playas de clase mundial de Varadero y dos supermercados turísticos están en camino a la playa, así como varios restaurantes cerca. La habitación recibe una brisa agradable por la mañana, pero por la tarde probablemente querrás encender el ventilador y posiblemente el aire acondicionado que está en la habitación si estás en la habitación cuando el sol golpea ese lado del edificio directamente. Viajaba sola y es muy seguro caminar de día o de noche.
Una Casa es una hermosa manera de experimentar el verdadero sabor de cómo viven y trabajan los cubanos, y esta Casa fue una experiencia maravillosa. Volvería a reservar si volviera a la zona.

How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
