Where to start? These hosts are some of the most amazing I've had in Cuba. They are super friendly, make an effort to speak Spanish and English with you. Omar picked me up with my luggage from the Viazul bus station by scooter, and upon arrival I got a welcome drink. They helped me rent a bicycle and arrange any other stuff I needed, and the breakfast was great.
If you go to Vinales, stay here!Host reply

Such a warm and welcoming family, we (family of 4) felt very at home and were very sad to leave such lovely people. The house is tucked away, a short walk from the centre of Vinales with a beautiful rural view of mogotes and the valley from the back veranda. Food was always delicious and vegetarian available too. Mayra and Marcos had endless patience for all our questions and spoke English very well. A delightful place to stay with a welcome from the heart. Joanna

We stayed 3 nights with Omar and Mayra and it was one of the best parts from our Cuba trip in March 2017. The house is very clean and cosy. As Vinales is very crowded of backpapers, we anjoyed that the house is a little bit hidden. You can sit on the terrasse and enjoy the great view and listen and watch the chicken around ;). Their son Marcos picked us up from the bus station and was so friendly. He told us everything about Vinales, about possibilities for excursions and also booked for us. Omar and Mayra were like parents for us. They cared so much and even if my Spanish was very poor and my boyfriend Marcel does not speak a word, we talked a lot with hands and feet and finally Marcel and Omar became best friends ;) They shared cigars and we talked a lot about the differencies of our countries. The food Mayra prepared was delicous and Omars' Mojito's are very good. When we left, they prepared Mango juice for us, gave us bananas and it was really sad to leave them behind. They are really nice people and if we ever go back to Cuba we will surely stay with them again.
Muchas gracias Omar y Mayra !!

Hola queridos Marcos, Mayra y Omar.
The above is a more personal message to the hosts, but to those looking for a lovely "home"stay then Casa Omar y Mayra is perfect. My 13 year old son and I absolutely loved staying with them.
The entire family is so lovely and caring. They took care of organizing the different activities. Mayra prepared beautiful and delicious breakfasts and dinners everyday for us. What a treat! This family is full of smiles and goodness. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the home is well located close to town, a mere 3 min walk. Enjoy.
