Homestay by the Sea, commute to Dublin

Ilija, from Croatia chose to stay with Noelle in Bray a lovely coastal town in north County Wicklow, while on business in Dublin. Bray is a very commutable option to Dublin, only 19km south and easily reached by DART, Train, Bus or the N11 road. Staying with Noelle our Homestay Host, allowed Ilija to experience a stay outside of the hustle and bustle of Dublin city but yet within easy commutable reach.

My stay with Noelle was really pleasant and I could recommend it to everyone. The room was nice and quiet which was important for my work and use of kitchen is very convenient for longer stay. You have all major amenities by short walking distance. Also there is direct bus route 145 to city center or you can take walk 20 minutes to the train station. The best time to stay is during summer because of beautiful Bray beach with it's sea views, and also to experience the magnificent Bray Head Cliff Walk...

Any tips or advice for other travellers?

For traveling around I will suggest you to take the Leap Card. Just ask in some nearby store and top up it with some amount. Paying with Leap Card is cheaper, without it you always have to have exact amount of change to pay the bus ticket. If you wish to explore Dublin and surroundings I suggest you to top up your Leap card with "rambler" option.  With rambler you can ride all routes all day. Or you could just stay local, explore the promenade and enjoy the local amenities.

How was your experience with your host?

Noelle was very nice and I enjoyed staying with her. They always make sure that I feel comfortable but also to have my own peace and privacy. For longer stays you will get clean linen and towels regularly. Bathroom is shared but never had any problem using it. Free use of kitchen is really convenient for longer stays so you can prepare some meals if you don't feel like going to a restaurant.

It was a great experience overall, you should definitely book with Noelle if you can consider staying a little outside of Dublin city.
