My family consist of 5 members, my mother in law, my husband, 2 kids and myself. At home we speak, Nepali our mother tongue, me newari (one of the dialect of Nepal), English, French and hindi.
We assist you to discover the different cultures, tradition of Nepal as already we are mix of two ethnic groups.
We have a small trekking agency "Sunshine Trekking" thus we would assist you in organizing trip, trek, tour, rafting in Nepal if you like.
I studied hotel management and did Master in Tourism. I work in my own homestay, my trekking agency and also working as a lecturer of French in colleges. I had also worked in French Embassy in Nepal. I am yoga lover and can teach you yoga too.
Our home is at heart of Kathmandu, it is at the best location for the tourist who want to stay nearby Thamel; the touristic hub which is hardly 10 min walk, tourist bus park (just 5-6 minutes walk), Swambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, old market Ason are in walking distance. As it is centrally located one should not be worry for the shopping, restaurant, bus station, taxi etc.
We have a sharing guest kitchen too, where long stay or short stay guest could prepare their meal but you support us by providing operational cost.
We have also 2BHK apartment, if you are travelling with a family or friends this is one good option.

Nous sommes une petite famille de 5 personnes, ma belle-mère, mon mari, nos deux filles et moi-même. Nous (tous les deux) parlons couramment français, anglais, hindi, népalais et néwari (dialecte du Népal). En fait notre famille est mélange de deux ethnies (culture). Je peux vous faire la connaissance de deux cultures différentes et aussi les autres cultures du Népal.
Nous travaillons dans le domaine de tourisme, nous avons une petite agence de trekking "Sunshine Trekking" alors nous pouvons aussi organiser du trek, tour, séjour, visite guidée, rafting etc.
Titulaire de l'hôtellerie et Master de tourisme, je travaille comme la secrétaire pour mon agence, je m'occupe de chambre d'hôtes et aussi je donne du cours de français aux universités. J'ai aussi travaillé à l'ambassade de France au Népal. J'aime beaucoup yoga et je peux vous donner le cours de yoga si vous voulez!
Notre maison est à la proximité de Thamel (le quartier touristique) c'est à peine 10 minutes à pied. Nous sommes près de l'arrêt de bus touristique pour aller à Pokhara et Chitwan également pas loin de la station de bus. Les sites héritages comme le temple du singe "Swambhunath", le Durbar Square, le vieux quartier "Ason" sont faisable à pied.
Comme on est bien situé il n'y a pas de problème pour les magasins, le supermarché, le restaurant etc
Nous avons une cuisine partagée, surtout c'est bien pour les clients qui sont pour longtemps. Vous pouvez nous donner une petite somme de l'opération.
Si quelqu'un veut la cuisine privée avec un salon, vous pouvez réserver un appartement. Nous avons un appartement avec deux chambres. Il y a la cuisine privée, un salon et deux toilettes, les équipements nécessaires (comme poêle, riz civière, des tasses, des assiettes etc)

Unser Haus liegt in der Nähe Thamel liegt; touristischen Bereich. Es ist kaum 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Daher für die Touristen ist dies die beste Wahl. Für das Restaurant, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bushaltestelle, Kinosaal etc wir sind an bester Lage. Diese sind alle in unserer Umgebung
Für die Ansicht aussi ist es gut, Platz von der Terrasse, können wir die schönen Berge, Tempel von Swambunath Kloster und Kloster sehen.
Unser Haus liegt in der Nähe von Thamel; Touristenviertel; es ist etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Also für Touristen kein Problem für Einkaufen, Essen gehen, Kino usw. Wir sind auch in dem nahen gelegenen Bus nur 2 min stoppen.
Diese Gegend ist ruhig und das Stadtzentrum.
Um auch zu sehen, unser Haus befindet. Von der Terrasse aus kann man die herrliche Kette des Himalaya bewundern, die „Swambunath“ Zeichen Tempel, Kloster Kloster, weiß Gompa usw.
Mahlzeiten
Gastfamilien können nach eigenem Ermessen ein kostenloses leichtes Frühstück anbieten. Für alle anderen Mahlzeiten, einschließlich eines kompletten Frühstücks, fallen möglicherweise zusätzliche Kosten an. Mahlzeiten und zusätzliche Zahlungen sollten direkt mit Ihrer Gastfamilie vereinbart werden.

We stayed at Shine Homestay for 3 months, and we loved it there! Rabina and Rishi are the most welcoming and warm hosts, they took such good care of us, and they really made it feel like home for us. We will recommend Shine Homestay to everyone coming to Kathmandu! The place is clean, central, and tucked away from any traffic noise.
Rabina and Rishi would help us with anything, and they included us in events and celebrations, so it was the perfect opportunity for us to experience some of the Nepali traditions and culture. A very social and open family, and we were always welcome in their kitchen! Overall a wonderful experience.März 2023
Perfect stay with Rabina and Rishi. Adorable family, they are welcoming, caring full of good advice and attentive. The house and the rooms are top notch and very clean. The house is very well placed (near Thamel, not far from the airport and bus stations). I recommend 100%.

We were really looking forward to an authentic homestay experience in Nepal and chose Shine Homestay due to the pictures and reviews. The room was clean, and the location was somewhat central and felt very safe. Unfortunately we felt that the property was run more like a hostel with a nosy landlord and less like a home. We did not get the feeling that we were at a homestay with a family like we were hoping for. Rabina and her husband did not feel very welcoming and we felt like we were more of an inconvenience to them than anything. They also charge USD $10 for a taxi service when it really only costs about USD $3 if you get your own taxi. The ATM at the airport did not work so we arrived without any cash to pay for the room, but they let us pay by paying their booking.com fee online. However the cost of the booking.com fee cost more than the two nights that we were staying and they were supposed to reimburse us for the extra cost but we never received the change back like we were promised. Overall, if you're looking for a place to crash for a couple days, this isn't the worst place in the world, but if you're looking for a homestay experience where you can experience some culture and spend a little time with a local family, then don't bother. It's a nice little hostel, but that's about it.

You found our home clean and safe - Thank you very much for this and definitely we are renowned for cleanliness and safety purpose. We focus on this too.
I am surprised to hear that you feel less home and more hostel, in which sense you felt that I am really sorry for this. Whoever comes here, they feel here like as a home, we give access every guest to enjoy terrace and our apartment. You had also been to our floor and we had a couple of tea together. Surprising, how do you find us hostile not welcoming, to offer tea/coffee mean to be hostile? We had given you too many suggestions about the places to visit and how to go there. Even we are ready to lend you money as your card was not working, isn't? You had no money for your daily expenses and to pay us for the room as well as for the pickup.
For the pickup, we work only with the private car (vehicle have fixed rate, it's not us who fix rate), that why I told you that you could take taxi which is cheaper but you asked for the pickup.
Regarding booking commission, as you could not get money at all then finally we had given this option to pay for the booking commission instead of the room and the pickup. The amount was almost the same only there was a difference around 2 dollars (it was 1.7 dollars only). We wanted to returned you this money but you get back home later 10 pm while as we go to bed before 10 pm. Next day, we asked you to join tea or coffee but you were in rushed for the visit. You did not remind us for the return and in rush we forgot too. We are sorry for this.
We are really sorry we could not understand your situation maybe you wanted to spend time together after 10 pm while as it's our rest time.

Highly recommend this homestay!
Rabina and her family are very sweet. The house/room is clean, quiet, safe and provides you with everything you need. Also good walking distance to the center and to busses/taxis.
What I appreciated the most, was Rabinas hospitality and always wanting to help. And especially the morning yoga! ;)Will come back again when in Nepal.

We felt welcome from the first second. Rabina and Risi were always friendly and helpful, giving us useful tipps (about Kathmandu and what we were looking for as well as for hiking tours).

Wunderbar herzliche Gastfamilie, die sowohl perfekt englisch als auch französisch spricht. Die Zimmer und die Dachterrasse sind ein Traum, die Lage ist perfekt direkt am Thamel. Ich war einen Monat für ein Praktikum dort und hätte mir keine bessere Bleibe für die Zeit vorstellen können! Liebe Grüße und bis zum nächsten Mal

Shine Homestay was really amazing. I stayed there for a month. The hosts Rabina and rishi became familly. They treated me as if I always knew them,always willing to go out of their way. I ended up in hospital because of a chronic condition and they made sure everything was taken care of. The rooms are very comfortable with the bathroom also amazing and new. The food was also very delecious. I would recommend anyone to stay here and you would be guarenteed the best,most comfortable stay.

Homestay très très accueillante, neuve et très propre. Rabina et son mari parlent français et en plus ont une agence de trekking ! Ils sont toujours à l'écoute et prennent grand soin de leurs invités. La literie est très confortable. La maison est située au calme à 1km du centre de Thamel. J'y suis restée 5 jours à mon arrivée et 5 jours avant mon départ, je recommande vivement.
