I stayed Teresa's house for 4 weeks and would like to tell you about the place step by step. Firstly, location is not bad. You can go to the nearest station in 5 minutes on foot. It takes about 25 minutes to Manhattan, 45 minutes to Times Square by train. So you can go to the center of NY about 50 minutes. However, on the weekend, M trains run only every 20 minutes and end at 9:45 pm. If you come to NY for sightseeing, you may be disappointed with a waste of time and inconvenience. Secondly, Room 1, where I stayed, is large and clean enough to be relaxing, but a negative point is a little bit far from bus room. At night, you have to walk through a dark corridor. Finally, host mother is friendly and caring, but sometimes it was hard for me to communicate with her. She is over 80 and not native English speaker, so from time to time, I cannot understand what she said and her unique pronunciation. Moreover, she is a little high-strung. If she finds out even a single hair you left unintentionally at bathroom, she will get angry and visit your room to scold. To sum up, Teresa's house is a good place for people who only think about "Lowest price to stay at single room in NY". To be honest, I definitely do not come back to the house anymore, but 45 dollar per night is extremely reasonable for Room 1. If you want to save money, I highly recommend you to stay Teresa's home.
