Thank you for the great breakfasts!
Sadly, our stay was very brief and we didn't get to know the area or our hosts that much, nonetheless I enjoyed my stay.
There are 2 things I can share though:
1. You'll see lots and lots of expensive german cars everywhere :D
2. There are some building scattered nearby with unrestricted roof access, I recommend going there when the sun sets. They're not very tall, but enough for a good view. Extra points for Tokyo Tower illumination!
ジンさんとユリコさんありがとうございます!
楽しかった!
The family room has this cool little tatami space up the stairs in an entresol. The stairs are tricky to go up or down and have no hand-rail, exactly why I liked the whole space so much! (honestly, no irony here)
We really liked the area too, some local places I can recommend:
バールマール (Baru-Maru) - You can get some normal Japanese food there. Fish lunch set was the best.
Times Resort Public Baths (Sento) - if you like sento (or onsens) this is a good one, and very close.
Northern bank of Arakawa river - this is a 20ish minute trip by foot. You can relax on the bank's grass and watch a juniors baseball game, with Arakawa and Tokyo as background. They probably play on Sundays. Maybe Saturdays.
Had a fun and comfortable stay with Hirohisa and Chiaki. I recommend getting dinner, super good. Breakfast is also a treat, with delicious jams and a different snack every day.
If you like that sort of thing, the dogs loved to cuddle.
We felt very welcomed, getting a lot of tips on local stuff and rides to the station. どうもありがとうございました!
We had a great stay and really felt at home. Tomoko is not only a wonderful host, also an interesting person. She made sure we won't go about hungry. ごちそうさまでした!
The area is also interesting.
I recommend this stay (but remember it's a share-house type).
Yasuko gave us a warm welcome, many directions and a handy map.
The kitchen looked well equipped (but we used it only for tea), there was a lots of space for laundry on the roof, also a very nice view.
Everything was very well organized, clean and comfortable.
We had a great stay here! Kurara and Sachiko really put effort to make us feel at home.
We enjoyed chatting with them a lot.
The beds may not look like it on photos, but they are really comfortable.
Be sure to try the sake (the japanese wine) they recommend at their bar. If you don't - regret awaits.
