Conoce a Mohammad Hossein
Mohammad arranged for a cab to pick us up from the airport. After an unscheduled long (two hours) process on the visa-on-arrival counter we finally walked out of the exit door at 3 a.m! To our relief, the cab driver waited for us patiently even at that odd hour. We took that as a good sign to start our short vacation in Iran.
Mohammad personally received us at the door and welcomed us. He immediately showed us our room on the ground floor and the shared bathroom next to our room, the kitchen and the dining area on the second floor.
Our room was fairly big for two South East Asian folks, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were fresh and clean. The air conditioner cum heater was new and worked well. Wifi was sufficiently fast. A note for Mohammad - the soundproof of the room needs to be improved, we could hear the cars and motorbikes outside as they passed by. A hanger for us to hang wet towels and used clothes would be great too.
The house was recently renovated and was well maintained. The bathrooms were big and super clean! The location was quite central and there were small groceries stores and a pizza/burger joint just a few meters away.
The great thing about staying with Mohammad was his almost 24/7 presence (he lives in the same house with his young family). He’s friendly, relax, soft-spoken and always ready to attend to all the needs of his visitors. Failing to book online, he personally went to the travel agent and reserved our flight to Shiraz while we were out exploring Tehran. On our last day in Tehran, Mohammad was free and the house had only few visitors so we got him to accompany us as our guide and he drove us in his car for a day trip to the mountain. We had a great time!
We were glad to have met Mohammad, our new extended family member and a great friend in Tehran. We highly recommend him as your friendly and reliable host in Tehran, have a good stay!
Mohamad and his buddy Aresh picked us up early from the airport. From that moment it was beyond our expectation! We were taken immediately to visit the Pink Lake. In the two days we stayed with Mohamad, we covered Hafiz Tomb, Orange Garden House, Persepolis, Necropolis, Taropood Gallery, The Old City, Karim Khan Castle etc. He and Aresh accompanied us all the way to make sure we were safe, well informed of all the places we visited and knew when to keep the distance to have our private moments. Needless to say they both helped us with all the snapshots too!
The real treat from Mohamad was the 'like home' experience from him and his warm family. If you choose to go with him, make sure you have at least one meal prepared and cooked by Sham, his wonderful mother. It was not cheap but the high quality ingredients and the authentic taste would certainly make you crave for more. We had four meals at home! We were glad we did that because in the next seven days of our travel to the different parts of Iran, we knew what to order at meal times. On the day we left, Mohamad's mum (..like all mums of the world) gave us some fresh fruits and dried fruits to take along for the bus journey to Yazd.
The location of the house was a little outside of the city's centre and if you are the type who like to wander around the city's alleys and streets till midnight maybe this is not for you. We shared the bathroom with the family and were given a very big room on the second floor of the three storey house. The wifi was fast enough and Mohammad a Computer Engineer graduate was obviously tech savvy, so we had no problem with any of our on-line stuffs and communications. Mohamad bought our bus tickets to Yazd through his phone.
We didn't plan to have a 'personalised' service treatment, but we did, and without a single moment of regret. It was not cheap but it was worth every dollar we paid!
Thank you Mohamad, Aresh, for all the great moments together. Regards to your mum and dad. Shalam.
