We are a couple, both from Scotland. We live in a beautiful part of the Creuse region of France, after spending many years in the south of Spain. We both work form home and enjoy lovely walks with our spaniel bitch, Poppy.
The house is old and quirky, comfortable and fairly spacious, with a pleasant garden. The guest room is on the first floor, sleeps one or two, is newly refurbished and is immediately next to a new shower room with toilet.
Guests can be collected by prior arrangement from the rail station at La Souterraine or the station at Saint-Sébastien.

About the Area
Close to the small artists' village of Fresselines (with a bar-restaurant), where Claude Monet painted, we are also not far from the River Creuse. A popular beauty-spot is the confluence of the Creuse and the Petit Creuse, with a tiny sandy beach. Also nearby is the pretty village of Crozant with its castle ruins and its walks by the River Sedelle. Deep in the countryside is a popular blues bar. Further - about 12 kms - is a very large bathing lake.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Guests need to understand that we have a small friendly dog.
Guests are welcome to make hot drinks in the kitchen and to store some food in the fridge. Light cooking is permitted.
Own transport is strongly recommended, but we can collect and drop off one to two guests to/from La Souterraine or Dun-le-Palestel or Saint-Sébastien.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
