This beautifully restored "Presbytere" is the charming countryside home of John & Libby. Set in the heart of picturesque Normandy, close to the historic Landing Beaches and overlooking Mont Castre (Hill 122), we offer luxury accommodation and warm hospitality for you to lose yourself in a bygone age. The house has over an acre of gardens including two terraces and a BBQ for the guests enjoyment. The interior of the house comprises a games room (with slate bed pool table), gym, large conservatory with dining area, kitchen, drawing room and lounge (with library, TV and piano). Fishing, golf, bird watching, sailing, go karting, hiking & cycling are all available in the immediate vicinity. The house provides an ideal location for those exploring this wonderful region of France and all it has to offer.

About the Area
Le Presbytere is situated in the heart of a small village between the historic towns of La Haye du Puits and Carentan. Close to the unspoiled coastlines of Normandy with breathtaking views of the Channel Islands to the west, and the legendary Landing Beaches to the East. It is a perfect base to visit all the attractions Basse Normandy has to offer including Mont Saint-Michel, Bayeux and Granville as well as numerous castles and points of historical interest. Allow yourself to become immersed in the French way of life enjoying regional produce such as calvados, cider, local cheeses, seafood etc as well as experiencing traditional markets and a slower pace of life.

I was very well received by John, Libby and their adorable girlies dogs Edith & Margot in a beautiful and ancient restored presbytery. So charming place, very chic and cosy where I enjoyed Chef John’s cuisine and the delicious marmalade made by Libby.
A very friendly couple who gave me the best advices to discover le Cotentin (St Vaast-la-Hougue, Barfleur, the Phare de Gatteville, and the long walk on the beaches, etc...), despite the complicated situation with the Covid.
I give to John/Libby/Edith and Margot the 5 hearts and much more if I could and I would truly recommend to meet this really nice family.

La experiencia con John y Libby ha sido fantástica. Buenísimos anfitriones, gente excepcional, trato muy personal. Hemos pasado muy buenos momentos con ellos. Desde el primer día te hace sentir como si tú fueras parte de su familia. Repetiríamos sin dudarlo.

Libby et John sont des hôtes très attentionnés. Nous avons eu un accueil très chaleureux et on tout fait pour rendre notre séjour des plus agréable. Donne pleins de conseils sur les lieux et visites à faire. Maison typique et décorée avec beaucoup de goût et de charme. Chambre très confortable et spacieuse. Très très propre. Petit déjeuner excellent. Beaucoup mieux que dans certains hôtels !!!! Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse un excellent rapport qualité prix. Merci beaucoup Christophe Émilie et le petit Nicolas

Our stay with John and Libby was perfect. You couldn't wish to meet a nicer couple, so friendly and helpful it was truly a memorable experience. If you are a dog lover you will fall in love with Edith and Margaux, they are the most gentle, adorable and loving dogs we have ever encountered. John and Libby's house is beautifully restored in a quiet French village, perfect for a relaxing stay. In a great location for seeing the sights of the Normandy Peninsula and landing beaches. We have awarded John and Libby the maximum of 5 hearts however if we could we would award many more.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
