My name is Patrick. I live with my son in a 72m2 flat located at the heart of the lively Chinese district of Belleville.
I propose two rooms :
- Room 1, an 11m2 single bedroom furnished with single bed, a desk, bookshelves and a large wardrobe ;
- Room 2 (larger than room 1) with a 160cm-wide double bed meant for one or two persons.
Both rooms are dedicated to female guests only.
There is a bathroom to share. Bedclothes and towels are provided. The apartment is on the fourth floor and accessible with a lift. It is located in a secured residence with access codes, a caretaker and surveillance cameras. The flat is quiet with the sun shining in and within 5mn walk from the Buttes-Chaumont Park, a favourite spot with joggers, including myself. It is within a 10mn metro ride to the Hôtel de Ville, Notre Dame, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée Picasso; 15mn to the Latin Quarter, the Louvre, Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur.
All facilities (metro station, doctors, pharmacies, supermarkets, greengrocers, bakeries, food markets, restaurants, bars) are at hand, within 5mn walk.
We preferably wish to welcome foreign female students or tourists eager to improve their French and discover French culture and cuisine. As a linguist (I taught languages in France and abroad and I am now a translator) I will be pleased to help our guests with the French language. I can also guide them through Paris and its famous museums. My family like good cuisine. I cook traditional French dishes: meals are optional with extra charge. The flat is provided with a washing-machine and a free and unlimited wifi connection to the Internet. Guests can use all kitchen appliances in the kitchen (fridge, oven, induction hob, microwave, blender ...) as well as the hair dryer.
There is a piano and a harpsichord.
My son Louis is a bright and very friendly child. He learns the harpsichord at the Paris music conservatory and enjoys ice skating in his spare time. Just as I am, he is very enthusiastic about welcoming guests from other countries at home.
About communication: Once the booking is made, exchange by email only. The telephone exchange can be done on the day of arrival and during the stay.

Our flat is located at the heart of the lively Chinese district of Belleville. It is within 2mn walk from Belleville metro station (lines 2 and 11), 5mn walk from the Buttes-Chaumont Park. It is within 10mn metro ride to Paris city centre (Hôtel de Ville, Châtelet), 15mn to the Latin Quarter.

I had a wonderful time at Patrick's house! It was my first time in France, but thanks to him, I was able to enjoy my stay in Paris. Patrick actively taught me about French culture and language. We enjoyed French home cooking and wine together. His son practices the harpsichord and I enjoyed his beautiful music. The room has a good view, is clean, and is quiet. I was able to sleep well at night. The common areas are also kept clean. When I was leaving, Patrick even helped me carry my luggage. I am truly grateful to him for helping me in every way. My time here is a memory I will cherish forever. I highly recommend Patrick's house!

Patrick was a very nice host, welcoming and friendly. He was mostly at home and we were able to ask him for advice what to see in the city or have a small chat coming home.
The appartment is quite old and needs some repairs in every room. While we used the bedroom, Patrick and his son stayed in the living room for sleeping and the other bedroom was used by another longterm guest. Being 5 persons in the appartment was quite a lot, but depending on how much time you're spending outside in the city, it doesn't matter that much. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet we're in an acceptable circumstance, but not really clean. Price wise I think it's fair. Belleville as such is an interesting district to live in and I can recommend to visit it.Host reply
Silja is a very nice young lady, but I am not sure she understands what a homestay is.
First, a homestay is not an apartment that you rent for yourself alone. You have to share the space with the other people living in the house. My flat is big enough (71 square meters) for everyone to have their own space. Here is what Italian guest Francesca wrote about my homestay: "The room is big and you've got everything you need for your stay. Patrick is a super good host. Always there to help you but also leaving all the space you need."
Secondly, in 'homestay' there's the word 'home'. Each of us has a home somewhere, and each of us knows that a home is never perfect. There's always a bulb that doesn't light properly, or a door that doesn't close well... A homestay is not a hotel. Yet, Silja seems to demand from a homestay the services of a hotel, where everything has to be perfect. For me, the most important thing is cleanliness. Contrary to what Silja insinuates, in my homestay the bathroom, the toilets and the kitchen are perfectly clean, cleaned after each use. Patrick is truly kind and my stay was awesome. He helped me navigate my way to the flat with a thorough direction via email and the location was very convenient and easy to access (3 minute walk to the Belleville metro station). I also encountered a problem with RATP regarding my Metro ride ticket and Patrick helped me sort it out. Will definitely come back the next time I visit Paris. Thank you, Patrick!

Patrick is a very friendly and hospitable man. He kindly escorted us to the bus station under his umbrella as it was raining heavily and we didn't have an umbrella. His apartment is conveniently located near metro and bus stations, as well as supermarkets, pharmacy, and other shops. The apartment itself was cozy, quiet and the toilet was clean, so making our stay very enjoyable. If we travel to Paris again, we would definitely choose to stay with Patrick. We highly recommend him as a host! Merci beaucoup cher Patrick!

Everything was great! Patrick met me on the first day, showed me the way to the house. He also marked for me the most interesting places in Paris. the location is very convenient, the house is very cozy and clean, thanks to Patrick for the hospitality.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay with Patrick and Louis for the holidays! The apartment is safe and It's in a great location for all your Paris adventures! They were extremely kind, made sure we felt at home and was always willing to help and answer any questions. I would definitely recommend staying at his home if you have the chance !!!
How do I book?

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
