About the Homestay

Urban Cosy

I propose a lovely guestroom (single) in my beautiful parisian home, which is located in the 10th district of central Paris. My place is in walking distance to Opéra, Galerie Lafayette, Les Halles, République, Montmartre and you can discover the city by foot. The neighbourhood is central, quiet and trendy, with a lot of cafés, restaurants and theaters. Several language schools are also nearby. My offer includes bedlinen, towels, bathrobe, hairdryer, WIFI, use of a beautiful bathroom and a full furnished kitchen. The room is a good starting base for a person who arrives in Paris and wants to be in contact with the locals, while spending a few weeks or months in the city. It suits to a student, an intern or a young professional, to someone who is attending a language school or into an exchange programme. My workfield is management and quality-control of social institutions, but I am are also interested in the cultural life Paris is offering. I traveled quite a bit in my life, lived in different countries and speak several languages . That's why I like to host from time to time people in my home, while they discover Paris and the french way of life. On this base I enjoy to welcome respectful, educated and openminded guests, who appreciate communication and cultural exchange, as well as the fact to share part of our daily life with conviviality around a meal or a glass of wine. I am looking forward to hearing from you and send you my best regards from Paris.
Martine.

"I had the most wonderful stay at Martina’s home. She was like a second family for me during my Erasmus Semester in Paris. She showed me the whole 10th arrondissement in the Parisian way and introduced me to so many places I’ve never been before. I loved the breakfast on the weekends that we enjoyed together with Philippe and the Apéros in the evenings. It was the perfect possibility for me to improve my French and get to know the Parisian life better.

The apartment was very clean and fitted perfectly for two people. The room is very calm because its window is on the courtyard side. It’s perfectly located, near the two stations (Gare de l’Est + Gare du Nord) where you can take the metro or the RER to the University Sorbonne or you can take the Metro nr. 7 at Poissonnière to the center of Paris (Louvre, Opera,..) and you can even walk to the center in 20 min., to Montmartre in 15 min. or along the Canal Saint-Martin that is just 5 min. away. It’s surrounded by everything you need: supermarket, Boulangerie, market, shops,…

I will remember this time always because Philippe and Martina were so amazing with me. I’m looking forward to many more evenings together! Thank you for everything!“

My stay with Martine was truly wonderful! I couldn't have asked for a better location to live in or a more lovely host! Martine was very helpful from the moment I arrived in Paris. She showed me lots of interesting places to visit which catered to my interests, and made me feel very welcome in her home. I really enjoyed sharing delicious breakfasts together at weekends and meeting her lovely partner Philipe. Both Martine and Philipe are very open-minded people who have travelled extensively throughout their lives, and I loved hearing their stories from their travels around Asia and various other places. Living with Martine means that you can live comfortably and independently in the heart of Paris, where your 'host' is also your friend. I will always remember my wonderful time in Paris, and I hope to stay in touch with Martine and Philipe to exchange our stories from our travels.

I am so grateful to have found this room in Paris! I stayed for 2 months, and it is conveniently located in the city centre. It was an amazing experience living with Martine. Her apartment is very clean, has a lot of flowers, as well as beautiful artwork hanging on her walls. She is also very helpful and knowledgeable of where to go in Paris, from famous-touristy spots and exhibitions to where to local crowds go at night. Her cozy guest room is very comfortable, and offers a lot of space, and privacy. The apartment is also close to many famous attractions, delicious cafes, and train/metro stations. Her, and her partner Philippe, are very welcoming people who love traveling and cultural exchange. If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to live here, not only will you live in a beautiful apartment in the city of lights, but you will also gain a friend, and the experience to live like a local.

I have spent my Erasmus semester at Martine’s home and consider that I was really lucky to find this place. Once I had discovered her guestroom, it was immediately clear to me that I would like to rent it for my time abroad. As soon as I arrived, Martine did everything she couldto make my stay as comfortable as possible: she showed me the neighbourhood and the city when I didn’t know much of it yet, gave me the best addresses to go out for dinner or for drinks and helped me with many useful advises. On the weekend we often had breakfast together or enjoyed a chat with a tea in the evening, which also helped me to improve my french a lot! Together with her partner Philippe we spent a wonderful time and they both were for me some kind of family during my time away from home.
The room is furnished in a very lovely way and has everything you need. The apartment is beautiful as well, offers all you need so you can really live the „parisian way of life“ . Another big advantage of Martines place is its great location in the city center. I am really grateful that I had the chance to explore Paris with the help of Martine and Philippe and can highly recommend this room for your stay!

I came to Paris to meet a friend, discovered Martines home and spent an amazing time. Martine was welcoming and had prepared everything for a nice stay. The room was very cozy and comfortable. I was able to use her well equipped kitchen and her whole place was clean and tidy. Martine helped me with everything I needed and gave me insidertips and advices for things to do in Paris. I also enjoyed the very central location of the appartement. From her home it was easy to reach almost everything in town by walking, which allowed me to explore the beautiful city of Paris.

I can definitely recommend Martines place to everyone.
    Merci beaucoup Martine! :-)

I spent 4 wonderful months in Martinas appartment in Paris. The appartment is very well located in the centre of Paris and close to the metro and a lot of interesting tourist attractions. Also you'll reach the supermarket and several bakerys which offer you a wide range of delicious croissants, baguettes and cakes, within a few metres. The neighboorhood is very lively, so there are a lot of nice cafes, restaurants, cinemas and theatres, especially near the Canal St. Matin. My room was very comfortable and well organized.
Thanks to Martina and Phillippe, their place became my new home in Paris for a few months. I really enjoyed having a tea with Martina in the evening after a long day of work, having breakfast together and not to forget, evenings full of interesting talks and laughter with Philippe and his famous cocktails. Martina and Philippe also recommended a lot of lovely places and activities which gave me the possibility to live a very parisian life. I will never forget my time in Paris and can highly recommend this beautiful place to live in. Thank you very much for making my time in Paris so unforgettable.

Thanks to Martine and her welcoming homestay I had a marvelous time in Paris. To start with, the appartement is centraly located, close to many tourist attractions and offers easy access to public transportation.
My room was beautiful, bright and quiet, but also confortable and well organized. I enjoyed the wonderful bathroom and the fact to be able to use the kitchen.
Martine and Philippe my kind and sypathics hosts, received me very well and gave me a lot of good advices to discover Paris. They made me feel at home and allowed me to live like " a real parisienne".
I appreciated a lot the moments of conviviality we had, while sharing a meal or a drink and the beautiful evenings we spent talking together.
I loved to meet this lovely couple who hosted me so well and if you I plan to go to Paris I definitly recommend you to stay in this beautiful and warm home.
Thank you for everything Martine, from the first contact by mail, until the moment of saying goodbye I will never forget the excellent moments we have spent together.

Martina and Phillipe are an extremely open-minded couple that are pleasant to stay with. I enjoyed my stay with them very much and learned a lot about the local culture.

I was in Paris for a patisserie program at Le Cordon Bleu. So I was very interested in food, especially French cuisine culture. On the first day of arrival, they welcomed me with a warm breakfast of croissants and orange juice. And there are many nights we shared dinner or drunk wine together. I appreciate Martina's beautifully placed plates, carefully watered flowers and Phillipe's delicious cocktails. Sometimes I would bring home some cakes or pastry I made at school; it was through sharing a piece of cake, we had many interesting conversations about culture, languages, politics, history etc.. I miss all that!

Martina's apartment is full of art posters/paintings from Centre Pompidou, companied by the green plants and violet flowers she mindfully takes care of. Any one who has an appreciation of art would like her simple, artistic apartment.

Martina is a very helpful and organized person. She introduced me to the local metro stations, cafes, shops, parks and the canal, which is very beautiful and worth a visit. She invited me for a trip to Versailles with her and Phillipe once. We had so much fun and it was a perfect day.

I highly recommend Martina's apartment if you enjoy cultural exchange.

I just returned from my lovely stay in Paris - a time I will never forget and always keep in my mind. But lets start at the beginning: From the very first contact on, I noticed, that Martina was a great help. The organisation of my stay was simple and all my questions and concerns about Paris were answered, so that I felt pretty comfortable about going to Paris.
If you stay at Martinas and Philippes apartment, you get to know the real Parisian way of life and you have the best geographic location to do so. While the buildings in the arrondissement are quite traditional, the life there is youthful and alternative. There are lots of places to go out at night and you could not have a better connection to public transport 24/7 in Paris.
However, when I arrived I did not only find a beautiful room in the heart of Frances capital, but a home and some fantastic people to spend time with. I won’t forget our petits-déjeuners with croissants, baguette and brioche, neither the awesome nights we spend on having dinner and drinking wine.
For me Paris will always be connected with those two kind and open-minded people. Thank you very much for simply everything.
    Bisous, Martha
