Warm and hospitable stay in a stylish old town house with its own garden, located in a private condominium in a quiet and safe neighbourhood within Paris intramuros.
The refurbished bedroom occupies the whole 2nd floor of the house and grants a complete privacy - ideal for someone who wants to study or work in a quiet environment, when not simply rest after a full day wandering throughout the city. The WIFI connection is excellent in the room. The bathroom is private but not on the same floor as the bedroom, which makes this accommodation not suitable for elderly guests. Sheets, towels and a bath gown are provided every week. A hairdryer is also available. Laundry and cleaning is done on a weekly basis.
There is a spare bedroom with a normal single bed and one 1 sliding bed under the first one to accommodate two more persons if you are travelling with relatives or friends. Price to be negotatiated according to the number of guests and duration of the stay. The shower room in this case will be shared between the guests.
The room fee includes access to the kitchen as well as access to the conservatory when you do not want to spend time in the room. During Spring and Summer time, the shady garden is a perfect place for a cup of tea or a drink at the end of the day if you are not tempted by the pub or the bistrot across the street.
The minimum stay is 3 nights.
As you will see from my reviews, I am used to hosting international travellers, foreign students or just citizens of the world (except French ones), for short term period or long term period, rate to be negotiated according to the duration of the stay.
I greatly enjoy helping my guests discover the city for a full immersion in French culture and habits according to their areas of interest. For those learning or improving their knowledge of the language, I provide French lessons according to level and frequency, these to be discusssed and settled directly with the host.
I am French, retired, speak fluent English, understand Spanish and a little German, but above all, I am an unconditional green and pet lover .

Please note that because of its location on the 2nd floor and the shower not being ensuite, this homestay does not suit elderly guests or anyone with knee or leg problem.

About the Area
This private house is located on Paris left bank, in the 15th district bordering the River Seine and abutting the 7th district. Central Paris can be reached within 15 mn by metro or by bus (stations are 5mn away, when not across the house). It is a 35 mn walk along the Seine River to the Eiffel Tower.
Direct bus to the house from North and East stations for guests coming from UK or Germany.
The area is residential and familial and homes many monuments (Eiffel Tower, Ecole Militaire, Invalides) , and various museums (Orsay, Rodin, Branly, Marmontan, Monet and Orangerie).
The house is at a walking distance from famous cooking schools CORDON BLEU and BELLOUET CONSEIL, 20 mn walk from UNESCO and is direct by metro to French language schools (SORBONNE, ALLIANCE FRANCAISE and ACCORD).
It is close to the
- the TOUR MONTPARNASSE skyscraper, a large shopping center which offers panaromic views across Paris and the Seine river from the 56th floor
- BEAUGRENELLE, the largest mall in Europe with traditional Parisian department stores, a multi-screen cinema and a choice of many restaurants, overlooking the River Seine
- the AQUABOULEVARD the biggest urban water park in Europe, with two wave pools, 11 giant water slides, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, lazy rivers and a 4,000 m² stretch of sandy beach, plus a whole slew of water games
- FOREST HILL physical fitness center.
You will find around the house inexpensive but intimate restaurants, trendy cafés, bars and brasseries, wine cellars, cheese delicatessen and bio shops. There are 4 supermarkets and 2 groceries stores within 5 mn from the house as well as two street markets 3 times a week.
Elsewhere around, you will find parks, squares and gardens, a flee market at Porte de Vanves and an antique book market which sell quality goods each weekend at the Georges Brassens Park.
There is an English speaking doctor across the street and European Georges Pompidou Hospital is 10 mn away by taxi in case of emergency.

House Rules
BOOKING
Your request will be accepted only if your profile shows a clear picture and you are legal age.
Once you have contacted the host and received confirmation that the room is available, click on the "book now" button in the notification email you will receive from Homestay. Fill in your details and pay the booking fee online to secure the booking (15% to Homestay). You will receive a confirmation email after you complete the booking payment process. It will include the exact address and directions to the homestay and your host’s email address and phone number.
You will then receive a confirmation email from the host with his banking details in order to settle the amount of the room within a week of your reservation. This will guarantee your reservation of the room. The banking fees, if any, are at to be borne by the guest.
In the meantime, you will be requested to provide a photocopy of your passport, flight details with arrival and departure times, and for a stay of 30 days or more, a civil liability insurance as well as a copy of the university or business school registration if you are coming for educational purposes.
A set of keys can be lent to you with a guarantee deposit of 300€ to be refunded when you return the keys at the time of your departure, except in the case of loss or deterioration of the locks.
GUARANTEE DEPOSIT
For a one month stay, a guarantee deposit of one week is requested. For a two months stay, the guarantee deposit will be two weeks, and for a three months stay, the guarantee deposit will be three weeks.
For longer stays, a one month guarantee deposit will be requested to be settled at the time of the booking on line and will be reimbursed at the final settlement.
The GUARANTEE DEPOSIT is not refundable if the guest breaks any house rules, if the room fee is not settled on time or if the guest leaves earlier than the departure date.
In the case of long stays, the fee of the room will be settled on a monthly basis on the 10th of each preceeding month.
CANCELLATION
The first thing is to INFORM your host and Homestay.com to free the host calendar.
Cancellation before arrival
- one month before arrival, a forfait of one week will be kept + 150 € for banking fees.
- Less than a month, a forfait of one week will be kept and 50% of the amount corresponding to the remaining period will be reimbursed after deduction of the banking fees.
- ten days before arrival, there will be no reimbursement.
Cancellation during your stay :
- for a one month reservation, the total remaining days are due and there will be no reimbursement.
- For a semester reservation, a one month notice must be given and ideally, you will have to find someone to take over, otherwise the semester is due for half the total monthly price. The guarantee deposit will be kept by the host.
VARIOUS HOUSE RULES
Checking-in is to be done after 3 pm and before 8:00 pm and checking-out is to be done before 11 am. However, exceptions can be made for long distance flights and luggage can be kept until the time of your departure.
Please let your host know about your move in and out of the house, especially if you expect to come home beyond 9 pm. Do not invite strangers into the house.
No noise or bursts of voices after 9:30 pm (house, garden or property alley).
Please, keep the bedroom clean and tidy. Same goes for the shower room and the kitchen which are to be cleaned right after you have used them and not sometime later…
Time and use of the kitchen is to be set with your host and is not allowed after 9 pm or during the night.
Any damages you may cause will have to be replaced or refunded and you will be given an invoice for your civil liability insurance which is mandatory.
Please keep your street shoes at the bottom of the stairs.
No food, no drinks other than water, no smoking of any kind, no washing and no ironing in the room.
Breaking any of these house rules will command immediate departure.
Hosting is not just a business. It is also an art and I will do my best so you enjoy your stay in my home and keep a wonderful memory from your visit in Paris.

This was my first Homestay experience and I stayed with Laura for one week in May.
Laura was very welcoming and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. She went out of her way to make sure I had all the information I needed for shopping and to find my way around on metro, tram and bus. We had some really good conversations in English and French and found we had quite alot in common. The location was good, and although the 15th Arr might not have attractions as well known as other Arr’s, I really liked it. It felt safe, everything I wanted was on the door stop, it felt like a community, and it was easy to get to the centre of Paris. The house was lovely, and having access to a garden was a real bonus.
The bathroom was on a different floor to the bedroom, and some people might find the stairs a bit daunting. That aside, I would highly recommend staying with Laura, and I’m looking forward to seeing her again when I come over to Paris for the Olympics.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Laura during my stay. I had the chance to take a semester in France and was absolutely delighted to have met her. She was an immense help to both my learning of the French language and the culture itself. She made it a point to speak as much french as she could as well showing me famous french movies or shows that allowed me to deep even diver into France. I recommend her with happiness and hope that you will have a similarly good time as I did.

Chez Laura is a homey place to stay. I enjoyed the location due to its easy access (within a ten minute walk) to two metro lines. The cafe across the street became my favorite hangout. Two blocks down from the house is a local park where I enjoyed picnics. The neighborhood is quiet and safe - a nice way to end a day spent among other tourists in the other districts. Laura will make sure you have everything you need.

I enjoyed my stay very much! Laura is very helpful and adjusts very well to specific needs. She was very attentive to make my stay as if I was at home. I got to also plan and adjust some time to take her French lessons. The location is great, safe, and 30 minutes walk to the Eiffel tower which I loved because I was able to enjoy walks with pretty views. Definitely will stay again!

I had a great time at Laura’s! I had originally asked for her time and effort to help me speak French and learn more about the culture, and she didn’t disappoint. I really felt like a friend, we had a lot of conversation spanning many things and I learned so much about the cultural aspects of the language, country, and its film in ways that I had no idea about before.
The location was wonderful and the room very comfortable. My only regret is I didn’t have time to stay longer!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
