Can hosts ask guests to sign a contract?

Yes, it's possible if the booking is for a long term stay. Some hosts require guests to sign contracts or rental agreements prior to check-in.

If the host chooses to have guests sign a contract, it must be detailed in the host profile description. You have to disclose the requirement and the terms to the guest before booking. It would be a good idea to post a copy of the contract in the message thread between the guest and host.

If guests aren't comfortable with the contract, it should be negotiated directly with the host.

All contracts must also adhere to Homestay.com Terms & Conditions.

In the event your host asks you to sign a contract and it was not disclosed to you prior to booking, please contact us.
