We also have the most friendly Labrador in the world!!!!!!
The city of Dehradun is famous for its schools, boasting some of the best in the country. The Doon School is one such elite school. In the last decade, it has also become a big centre for college education with many colleges and universities being established here.
My home is situated quite close to some of the major touristattractions of the region, chief among them being the following:

2. The holy town of Rishikesh is 45 km
3. The popular hill resort of Mussoorie is 35 km away
4. The quiet hill station of Chakrata is 90 km away
Being the capital city of the state of Uttarakhand, the home can act as a central point from where excursions and visits can be made to various parts of the state.
From a historical standpoint, my house is within walking distance from the famed Forest Research Institute, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology and the Indian Military Academy. The Tibetan settlement at Clement town, with the tallest Buddha statue in the country, is also about 8 km away.
The city of Rishikesh provides opportunities for river rafting during the season as well as adventure sports. Hiking and trekking are major attractions of this hill state. The Rajaji National Park and the Malsi Deer Park provide opportunities for the 'nature' minded. The Asan barrage (about 30 km away) is a resting ground for migratory birds in winters and are a delight for bird watchers.
The location of my home is picturesque in that it is set in a quiet green area, and the house itself has a large garden. The hills of Shivalik range of mountains, and the town of Mussoorie can be seen from the terrace. In winters, the snow clad mountains make a pleasant
The Reliance Big Cinemas Mall offering a multiplex is walking distance from the home, and also offers many eateries near it.
My hobbies include gardening, reading, cooking, listening to music and interacting with my guests. Since I have traveled all over the world with my husband, it gives me great pleasure to interact with my guests and give them a snapshot of our culture and hospitality.
Our family is small with my two children studying abroad. This gives me time to attend to my guests. We are all fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali.

Mousumy is such a nice host and she is doing a fantastic breakfast. We really felt very much welcome and supported in any need. Highly recommended.
Mousumy was a perfect hostess. She made us feel very welcome and took care of us just like family. We had an early morning flight and Mousumy got up at 4am to see us off and even packed sandwiches for us. I was really touched by this gesture of hers. I had requested for home cooked meals and she treated us to some yummy dishes. My heartfelt thanks to both Mousumy and Yogi for hosting us. We not just enjoyed our stay, but also loved our conversations with them :-)
I cannot not mention their lovely garden and their lovely dog Mimi who stole our hearts.
We (me and my son, from the Netherlands) stayed here for 3 nights. Not only was the offerted accomodation of high quality, but more exceptionel was it, that from the first until the last minute of our stay we were so well cared for and assisted by out hosts. Thanks to this, we were able to realize all the trips we had planned during our short visit, and could well discuss all our experiences with our hosts. But most of all our hosts made our stay a really heartwarming experience!
We booked one night, but ended up staying for 6 more!
My daughter and I couldn't have asked for more welcoming, friendly and and fun hosts!
Mousumy (Mo) and her husband, Yogi, have a lovely home in a great location with lots of privacy for their homestay guests. Our very comfortable bedroom, private bathroom and outside terrace seating (with a beautiful view) was upstairs and separate from the hosts area, therefore, we never felt like we were infringing on their privacy and vice versa.
Mo is a WONDERFUL cook! She took great pride in serving us a scrumptious breakfast every morning that filled us up for the entire day!
When my daughter was away for several hours one morning, I expressed my desire to walk around the neighborhood and experience the local culture. They took time to explain the surrounding area and drew a detailed map for me. I walked to the grocery store (Suvidha), stopped for a delicious cappuccino at a nearby coffee shop (Krazy for Coffee) and mingled with the locals. I had such a great time all by myself! There are so many things to see and experience so close to their house.
They were also very helpful in informing us what form of transportation to use; (auto, vikram or taxi), depending on what activities we had planned for each day.
Visiting India for the first time was absolutely amazing. Staying with Mo and Yogi made all the difference in making my trip so wonderful and enjoyable! Thank you for everything, Mo and Yogi; especially treating my daughter like your own! We would definitely stay with you again!
I highly recommend Mo and Yogi's homestay. You won't be disappointed!
A wonderful house with great host. Very warm and welcoming. Good food and good conversation. Will definitely come again.
Mousumy has a beautiful home and garden. The way the room is kept and little details are taken care of is lovely. She is very helpful with local information and guidance. And she is a wonderful cook and loves to feed! To top it all there is Mimi, the most friendliest dog in the world. Mimi makes you feel as if she has known you all your life. Staying at Mousumy's is a good experience both in terms of the stay and help to go about Dehradun she provides.
It was unique experiencing a warm home with even warmer hosts through Homestay. Mousumy was quick in response and very welcoming. Mousumy and Yogendra greeted us warmly on arrival and of course the lab "mimi" charmed us to play with her. The owners are very helpful, interesting and well traveled. It was a delight to live in a home made with love and life. Portraying a comforting character full of Indian textiles and artifacts and nestled in the scenic valley of Dehradun this was an experience which will stay forever in our hearts. Highly recommended.
